12-Year-Old Kills Man & Walks Free?! Mayor’s Office Letter Helped Free a Shooter Who Killed Another 12yo

Torrey Snow and Yuripzy Morgan break down Maryland’s juvenile justice disaster: a 12-year-old driving a stolen car ran a red light and killed 69-year-old Barry White Sr. on a motorcycle, yet faces no real charges under the 2022 Juvenile Justice Reform Act (pushed by then-Sen. Jill Carter). Vehicular manslaughter isn’t treated as a “crime of violence,” so kids under 13 skate. They cover Ivan Bates’s frustration, other recent cases (stolen cars hitting an MTA bus, a 58-year-old, and a 3-year-old), and why “rehab over accountability” is failing. They then dig into the MONSE (Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement) character letter that helped get a man—convicted of shooting someone in the face—released early. Eight days later he was involved in a shooting at a football game that killed an innocent 12-year-old with a short-barreled rifle. Calls for IG investigation and scrutiny of Brandon Scott’s office. Also discussed: Pete Hegseth’s proposal for a public, live-streamed firing-squad execution of the Fort Hood shooter (Nidal Hasan) at Fort Hood (around Dec. 3, 1 p.m.), optics vs. deterrence, and JD Vance’s reaction. Plus Wes Moore’s refusal in the debate with Dan Cox to commit to a full four-year term if reelected, what that means for Aruna Miller and the state, and a short Patreon exclusive clip with Green Party gubernatorial candidate Andy Ellis on the Key Bridge.

Juveniles Crash Stolen Car Into Baltimore Bus — GOP Won’t Talk About $4 Gas

Four juveniles in a stolen sedan fled police and slammed into an MTA bus at East Oliver and North Wolfe. Sixteen people went to the hospital. Baltimore’s homicide numbers are down. Juvenile joyriding is not. Torrey Snow and Yuripzy Morgan argue the juvenile system’s “kid gloves” approach — rehab over accountability — is producing the same wrecks, and they connect it to Mayor Scott’s youth diversion program and the Inspector General fight over those records. Then they flip to the issue Republicans used to own. Gas is still over $4. Trump’s economic disapproval is brutal. CNN says the GOP midterm message is trans, immigration, and crime — anything but kitchen-table prices. Torrey and Yuripzy say that is a warning sign for November. In Maryland, Governor Wes Moore’s redistricting ballot question is polling worse than the campaign sold it. A bipartisan Protect Maryland Votes survey puts support around 28%. Moore’s own poll only gets to 40%. They unpack Andy Beshear’s “we make a pretty good team” line, the Maryland flag blowback, and why a failed Question 3 would be an unforced error on a national résumé. They also share excerpts from their interviews with Republican gubernatorial nominee Dan Cox, who says he is done running a national race and is locked in on Maryland. The last segment is the Baltimore Sun story of a student identified by his principal in a McDonald’s carjacking video, put on an ankle monitor, and later cleared. Torrey and Yuripzy ask whether that was racial profiling — or a principal who thought the face on the tape looked like a kid he already knew. Support the show: patreon.com/freerangepolitics
