Hippity Dippity Groovy Cool | Man on a Hill Ep. 25

Brought to you by Williamson Brothers Barbecue. Two restaurants in Marietta and Canton, insanely good sauces, and 35 years of doing it right. Find it at Walmart, Kroger, Sprouts, and Whole Foods, or order online. We're back from Chicago. At a dive bar that opens at 7am we met a 60 something-year-old man named Jeff who bought us a beer every time we played a song he liked, refused to tell us his age and showed us his bald head instead, and gave us the phrase "hippity dippity groovy cool." Also: a sweat lodge with a ten-foot cold plunge, pierogies and chess over vodka, a wallet lost in an Uber and recovered, an architecture cruise where the guide said "balconization" forty-five times, four miles on scooters that left one man behind, batting cages in a bar, and a karaoke performance that got handshakes. Plus a Tony Hawk sighting nobody believes, the Falcons being declared the best team of all time by one host, a Survivor plan that collapsed because a man didn't know you can't vote for yourself, towel hygiene, apple cores, Bigfoot, Santa pictures, and an open invitation to any Georgia politician who wants to come on. Hillbillies, hippity dippity groovy cool. Leave a voicemail at speakpipe.com/manonahillpodFollow @manonahillpod everywhere

Permanent Uncertainty | Man on a Hill Ep. 24

Man on a Hill is now brought to you by Williamson Brothers Barbecue. Thirty-five years, two restaurants in Marietta and Canton, and a sauce that works as a marinade, a baste, and a dip. Find it at Walmart, Kroger, Sprouts, and Whole Foods, or order online. Tythil's back from Germany, where he drank for a week, stayed up until four every night, and still can't confirm whether he drove on the Autobahn. We got the influencer treatment at a United game, oysters and Hennessy in a suite, and one of us haggled a Mercedes rep down five dollars on a hat he didn't want. Then the question that took ten minutes: you're at hibachi, you ordered steak, the chef flings shrimp into your mouth, and the check says shrimp meal. Do you pay? Also: the Falcons looked like a real team and somebody has to eat their words, a dyed mustache nobody noticed, a Waffle House check that went in the dish pit and came back out on the waffle iron, the Chicago sweat lodge, Survivor's permanent uncertainty era, four years of unaired audition tapes, and Jameis Winston on the power of fifty-three crab legs. Hillbillies, we're twenty-four deep and we have a sponsor. Leave a voicemail at speakpipe.com/manonahillpod Follow @manonahillpod everywhere

The Walled Garden feat. Hunt (Hunt's Picks) | Man on a Hill Ep. 23

Friend of the Hill, Hunter shows up while Tythil is on a top secret mission. Hunter brings the stories: fifteen years of fantasy football and no championships while his little brother won two in four years, a first week of college that ended with rumors he died in a ditch and four trips to the Georgia Dome. The Falcons get a full therapy session. Cooper Rush, three missed field goals in two games, Jack Strand set up to fail, and Hunter's case for why the rebuild means this season doesn't matter. We predict every remaining game. Plus: Mike in a Turnstile pit, dislocated his thumb, and healed it with YouTube frequencies before driving five hours to a wedding on no sleep. Oysters, breakfast cake, cologne compliments, the China Mall night market, and voicemails including Alex Jones explaining that Tua is a lizard person. Hillbillies, welcome to the walled garden. I Could Tackle Bijan | Man on a Hill Ep. 22

One of us fully believes he could tackle an NFL running back. Ten by ten yards, no blockers, one whistle. He's got a game plan involving belt buckles and chopping his feet. The rest of us think he doesn't touch Bijan once in a hundred tries. There's now a progression, and it's getting filmed. Also: the Falcons go on trial with four quarterbacks, three of them hurt, and a plea to Arthur Blank to sign Cam Newton. We cold-call two friends and ambush them about their teams losing. A Buckeye fan claims Michigan's record is a dyslexia issue. A Georgia Tech fan at 0-2 blames the refs and promises ten and two. Plus: a $225 tuxedo that ripped in the crotch, a guy with two real Rolexes policing a fake one, how long a glass of water is safe to drink, Costco's return policy as a pawn shop, Pollo Campero over Popeyes, dressing like Al Capone in Chicago, messing with campaign callers, lemon pepper wing cologne, and an app that won't let Georgia Southern grads join. Hillbillies, we're 22 deep. Leave a voicemail at speakpipe.com/manonahillpodEmail us at manonahillpod@gmail.comFollow @manonahillpod everywhere

Darth Skeetious | Man on a Hill Ep. 21

We recorded this hungover, sick, and on four hours of sleep. One of us threw up before we started. Five days of summer camp will do that: Georgia Tech vs Colorado, Dragon Con, a Star Wars rave, and pranks that escalated to salted water bottles and chicken alarm clocks. Through the middle of it walks Deep Skeet Keeth. Eight hours late in a truck that kept dying on 285. Straight to the porch, three blunts before he comes inside. Makes us walk the entire convention center to change the unreadable print on his badge to "Sir Deep Skeet." Orders an Arnold Palmer at an authentic Chinese restaurant. Negotiates with a lightsaber vendor for two hours, buys the mystery box, pulls the nicest saber in the building. Darth Skeetious was born and we would have had it any other way. Also: Colorado went 1-0 against Georgia Tech, 22 hot sauces in a row, a Teletubby costume abandoned under a bathroom sink, a duel with a Jedi who wasn't ready, Playboi Carti not seeing the sun for two years, Billy Strings, catfish bait made from Red Bull and jello mix, the Falcon Farmer, and a couple praying in a strip club parking lot. Plus one of us played high school football with the guy currently on the front page of Complex for faking an NFL career. Hillbillies, we suffered for this one. Butter Knife Shawty | Man on a Hill Ep. 20

A guy in a Cadillac was blasting a song outside a flea market in Macon. Mike heard one lyric, looked it up, and found Butterknife Shawty: a black cowboy out of Atlanta who smokes ribs, sells barbecue plates, goes to Mike's gym, and makes music that sounds like Charlie Wilson and Morgan Wallen in the same room. All his videos are AI so people think he's AI. He isn't. We called it first. Also: Bonnaroo gets cancelled and we go deep on how a festival dies, including the 2014 lineup where Sam Smith opened for Danny Brown and one of us slept next to a trash can to conserve energy for Frank Ocean. Plus Smiley's Flea Market, the Mexican circus, the night that ended with gum in somebody's hair, Nutella as a health food, a donut running challenge abandoned in real time, Waffle House challenge coins, and whether Diet Coke belongs in a can or over ice. Voicemails go nuclear. Hunter buys a Cameo from Jesus to insult a man named John and his corgi. John comes back with fifteen years of fantasy football receipts. Twenty episodes in. Pizza Math | Man on a Hill Ep. 19

Fourteen guys are coming to the draft party and we cannot agree on how many pizzas that is. The number goes 26, then 22, then 18, then somebody suggests scrapping pizza entirely for Publix fried chicken. Still no answer by the end. Meanwhile Mike is in a neck brace he's worn for five days straight, earned by watching reels on the workout bike and checking his phone between bench press sets. He wore it to work, to a festival, and to Walgreens, where he saw Deion Sanders advertising adult diapers and fell to his knees. Also: Dragon Con plans that end with all three of us painted blue, a draft gauntlet built around Malort shots and dizzy bat, a live phone call to the guy skipping it all for jiu-jitsu practice, Falcons preseason damage, whether Drake London is soft, Ty's Chicago report, a voicemail dedicated entirely to insulting one man's corgi, the case against Batman, and the fan base finally getting a name. Hillbillies, welcome. Leave a voicemail at speakpipe.com/manonahillpodFollow @manonahillpod everywhere

Donkey Milk | Man on a Hill Ep. 18

Everything lives at manonahillpod.com We found out this week that all mammals make milk. All of them. Every single one. That turns into a full ranking of donkey, camel, dog, and pig milk, and that's how Episode 18 got its name. Also on this one: Lewis Barbecue and a bill big enough to split into three meals. The Drake speed dating clip where a grown man gets asked to bark. A juggalo-themed fantasy football league with custom jerseys and battle raps. Gas station rhino pills. A Georgia Tech vs Colorado bet where the loser adopts the team all season. Cologne that smells like a Turkish man. The Bears fleeing to Indiana. A Helen Keller voicemail conspiracy. Mr. Cinnamon's Pokemon portfolio. Disney adults. And one man's claim to the longest butt crack in the world, backed by a phone call. Dumb takes, real stories, zero filter.
