    Welcome to The Patron Saints of Sick Sons of Bitches! It’s a podcast where Orchid Cugini (Live, Laugh, Ligerbomb) and Colette Arrand (BIG EGG) make convincing (or not-so-convincing) arguments for every wrestler ever’s claim to be the Greatest Wrestler of All Time! In this debut episode, Orchid and Colette explain the premise of the show, their methodologies in determining a wrestler’s greatness, and, most importantly, their very first candidate: Bill Goldberg! Debuting in World Championship Wrestling in September of 1997 as a glowering muscleman who smashed the likes of Hugh Morris, The Barbarian, and Road Block before shrugging off “Mean” Gene Okerlund, Goldberg quickly became a phenomenon, winning the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship before the conclusion of his rookie year, riding a once-in-a-lifetime wave of momentum garnered by his undefeated streak. In this episode, Orchid and Colette dig into this era of Goldberg. What was WCW like before his arrival? What did the debut of AoL 4.0 have to do with his rise? How much of Goldberg’s perceived greatness is a matter of his being booked to dominate and how much of it was actual ability?
