Episode 6: Jaclyn Misch (MRKH, Surrogacy, IVF, Advocacy) On this episode of The Infertile Diaries, we have the incredible honor of welcoming Jaclyn Misch, former Miss Michigan, whose personal journey has transformed her platform into a powerful voice for women living with MRKH syndrome, a rare condition in which a woman is born with an absent or underdeveloped uterus. Jaclyn takes us back to the moment she received her diagnosis at just 16 years old and shares the emotional and physical journey that followed as she pursued IVF and surrogacy in hopes of becoming a mother. She opens up about welcoming her son, Logan, while also vulnerably sharing the devastating heartbreak of losing her daughter, Harper, at 20 weeks in utero. Through unimaginable loss, financial and emotional challenges, and the uncertainty that can accompany infertility and surrogacy, Jaclyn continued moving forward with faith, perseverance, and an unwavering hope of building her family. But her story doesn’t stop there. Jaclyn shares her experience with surrogacy and induced lactation, including the Newman-Goldfarb Protocol and the incredible possibility of breastfeeding without experiencing pregnancy herself. She also takes us behind the scenes of her pageant journey and shares how she has used public speaking and her platform to raise awareness for MRKH and advocate for women facing similar diagnoses. This is a deeply personal conversation about infertility, child loss, surrogacy, faith, motherhood, and the courage it takes to keep going when the path to building your family looks completely different than you ever imagined. Jaclyn’s story is ultimately one of hope and a powerful reminder of what can happen when we continue to persevere, hold onto our faith, and refuse to give up on the dream placed on our hearts.
