    The Ghosts in Blue

Two strange encounters. Two women marked by the color blue. First, listener Troy shares an experience from Ferndale Cemetery on California’s North Coast, where a distant woman in a blue dress seemed to vanish among the graves. What happened next — including a photograph and a whisper from an unseen voice — turned a casual cemetery visit into his first paranormal experience. Then, we head into the Sierra National Forest near Shuteye Peak, where a three-year-old boy reportedly saw a blue-haired woman in a remote meadow. His description would soon be connected to the disappearance of Sandra Johnsen Hughes, a missing hiker whose case remains unresolved. Two haunting stories, hundreds of miles apart, linked by one unforgettable detail. Theme music by Zetauri courtesy of Freesound.

    Please Feed the Animals

This week on The Ghost Collector, two firsthand stories take us into places that felt wrong long before anyone could explain why. In “The Mail Slot,” Romel remembers a badly burned house in his childhood neighborhood and the day a group of kids found one small way to look inside. What they saw in the charred living room became even more disturbing when they learned what happened next. Then, in “Please Feed the Animals,” Dennis recalls a late-night drive into the mountains near Hecker Pass, where an overgrown road led to a lit cabin, roaming animals, a hanging dummy, and a strange handwritten sign. When they returned later to find the place again, it was nowhere to be found. Two strange memories. Two places that left behind more questions than answers.

    The Light in the Orchard

Two firsthand encounters. Two very different kinds of strange. In The Light in the Orchard, a listener remembers a mysterious light moving among the trees during childhood—only to encounter it again years later on a foggy night when he was lost and trying to find his way. Then, in The I-5 Encounter, Mark recalls driving near Firebaugh, California, when traffic slowed to a near stop as motorists watched an enormous, dark, rectangular object hovering beside the freeway before it suddenly rose and disappeared. A wandering light. A massive object in the night sky. And two experiences that still resist easy explanation. This is The Ghost Collector. The Woman at the Foot of the Bed

Three strange encounters. Three moments that refuse to fade. A child wakes to find a silent woman standing at the foot of his bed on old Gold Rush property near Columbia, California. A solo backpacker, days into the high country without seeing another person, hears a deep human voice answer him from outside his tent. And on a lonely country road, a cemetery gate that is always locked suddenly swings open in the middle of the night. Ghosts of the Arizona Desert

Ghosts of the Arizona Desert This week, The Ghost Collector heads into the strange, lonely landscape around Quartzsite, Arizona. In The House in Quartzsite, I revisit an old home my grandparents owned in the desert—a place that always felt a little colder, a little quieter, and, during one particular visit, increasingly difficult to explain. Then, in The Red Ghost, we step into one of Arizona’s strangest legends: the story of a massive red camel roaming the desert with the remains of a dead man strapped to its back, and the bizarre real history of the U.S. Army Camel Corps that helped give the legend life. Two stories from the Arizona desert—one personal, one legendary, and both hard to forget. Theme music by Zetauri courtesy of Freesound.org

    The Crying Beyond the Mine

Three unsettling encounters with presences that could be heard, sensed, and even smelled—but never fully explained. In “The Crying Beyond the Mine,” two friends travel into a remote mountain mining camp to test a powerful new flashlight. When one remains behind while the other explores an abandoned gold mine, a strange sound begins drifting through the darkness from somewhere farther up the road. Next, a Lost Ghost Story called “The Smell of Someone Else.” A man living in a newer Patterson home repeatedly returns to find the unmistakable smell of body odor in his empty living room. The odor comes and goes without explanation, accompanied by fleeting movement and objects that refuse to remain where he left them. Finally, in “Two Hours Away,” a long-distance relationship leads to frequent visits to an ordinary San Jose apartment—one where a young woman usually believes she is alone. But a series of strange incidents raises a disturbing question: when no one else is supposed to be there, who—or what—is inside with her? Audio credit: Zetauri_DarkThrillerLoop_J8.wav by Zetauri

    The Hiding Place

Sometimes the safest place to hide is the last place you want to be found. In “The Hiding Place,” a childhood game of hide-and-seek takes a terrifying turn when a young boy crawls beneath a stranger’s bed, falls asleep, and wakes to something pale and impossible staring back at him from the darkness. Then, in “The Face Between the Posts,” another childhood memory unfolds at an old family cabin. Sleeping outside on the deck in a green sleeping bag, a boy wakes in the night to a woman’s whisper — and sees a bone-white face watching him from between the deck posts. Two childhood encounters. Two frightening faces in the dark. And two memories that never really went away. The Ghost Collector shares firsthand paranormal experiences, strange encounters, and true stories from people who still remember exactly what they saw.
