The new fascism at its finest

It’s horrifying that this podcast exists and people listen to it. They are completely dishonest, misleading and dangerous.
Specific to Beyond Meat Episode:
This is always the problem when you start with an ideology and try to conform the science to fit the ideology. But, aside from them avoiding or ignoring the fact that plant protein is not even remotely as bioavailable as animal protein, or 1000’s of years it’s taken evolution to create the perfect processing machine that they’re trying to create in a lab in a few years (and are admittedly experiment with people as they keep developing their product), the basic premise they start with, the environmental issue (which is a better anchor to tie it to than the moral/ethical argument) is just not there. The supposed carbon footprint from raising cattle (food, water, methane, etc...) isn’t real. I’m a fan of real science and data, and not agenda driven “science”. There is and will be a far bigger environmental impact from the creation of beyond meat then there is from real meat, but they don’t care as long as people move to plant based (ironically, more animals are killed from agriculture than slaughter, but it doesn’t matter because they’re mostly rodents and small mammals I guess).

Phenomenal Podcast

This is one of my favorite all time podcasts. The tech content they cover is interesting and detailed and they are funny, too. And when they have other Vergecast people on, it's usually excellent. I highly recommend this podcast.
