Dear FIA, Please Let Them Race + Shoey - 2021 Italian GP Review

Dear FIA, Please Let Them Race + Shoey - 2021 Italian GP Review

Daniel Ricciardo's first win with Mclaren or Verstappen-Hamilton's crash? What's your highlight of the 2021 Italian Grand Prix?

For us, there's nothing that can overshadow Ricciardo's first win. You know well just what the Australian has been through post-Red Bull & with Mclaren to get to the top step in Monza. Congratulations, Daniel!😎

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal celebrate Ricciardo's win (without a shoey, sadly!), analyse the Verstappen-Hamilton crash and the subsequent FIA's penalty for Verstappen. What side of the fence are you on? Is it a Hamilton's fault, Verstappen's fault or a racing incident?

For us, it's clear that the FIA needs to hit refresh and treat racing incidents as exactly that - racing incidents. First Silverstone, now Monza - will the title rivals come together again. And if they do, will the FIA be trigger happy with penalties as they've been yet?

@F1StatsGuru (Sundaram) delivers a mighty stats review - one that is bolstered by Mclaren's performance - one that saw them win and finish 1-2 in the 2021 Italian Grand Prix on merit. Also - overtaking in Monza was almost impossible unless you were Valtteri Bottas. Tune in!

Tow, Tow, Tow + 5 Things To Watch For - 2021 Italian GP Preview

Tow, Tow, Tow + 5 Things To Watch For - 2021 Italian GP Preview

The tow is worth about 0.7s per lap - so that's our pick for the buzzword for this weekend's Italian Grand Prix. But of course, 'slipstreaming' and 'drafting' come a very close second. The 2021 Italian Grand Prix also sees a return of the F1 Sprint - a second chance to like (or dislike!?) the format a bit more, we guess.

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal preview the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. There's also the not-to-miss stats review from Sundaram in this episode. At the moment, it seems that Monza is most-suited to host the F1 Sprint - can we expect a lot of overtakes this time around? Also, watch-out for Friday evening traffic in Monza - all drivers waiting for the tow!

It's Round 14 in the battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Who's car will hold the edge around the 'Temple of Speed'? Can Lando Norris get his points-scoring rhythm back? Mclaren need to strike back in their battle with Ferrari for P3. Who else is the wild card? Pierre Gasly arrives this weekend as the last winner of the Italian Grand Prix. Yes, 2020 saw a crazy result. Let's see what 2021 throws at us. Tune in!

Zandvoort Shows What F1 Is All About - 2021 Dutch GP Review

Zandvoort Shows What F1 Is All About - 2021 Dutch GP Review

OMG, Zandvoort just delivered the most-perfect Formula 1 Grand Prix since a long long time. Here's the best to describe how we saw it - is that a music festival? is that a Formula 1? It's the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix!

Max Mania, Super Max, Magic Verstappen and several other terms were used for Red Bull Racing's winning driver this weekend. He was calm, composed and measured as he went about picking up pole position and race win to reclaim the lead in the Drivers' Championship. But could Mercedes-Hamilton have done any different? Remember, there's only so far you can go on race strategy...if you don't have the fastest car.

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal discuss Valtteri Bottas' act of defiance, did Sergio Perez really deserve the Driver of the Day or was it Fernando Alonso or maybe even Pierre Gasly? While applauding Perez's recovery drives, let's remember that this isn't what the doctor (Marko) ordered for.

Ferrari pulled away from Mclaren in the Constructors' Championship - and it's linked to Lando Norris not weaving his magic on track like he did in the first half of the season. There's a lot more in this episode, tune in!

Orange Army, Verstappen vs Hamilton, Booing + 5 things to watch for - 2021 Dutch GP Preview

Orange Army, Verstappen vs Hamilton, Booing + 5 things to watch for - 2021 Dutch GP Preview

Could Lewis Hamilton score his 100th Formula 1 win in front of Max Verstappen's 'Orange Army' at Zandvoort? Will Zandvoort offer us good racing this Sunday? It's certain that the qualifying hour will be fun to watch - drivers finding the limit of their cars on a narrow, fast-flowing and banked circuit.

P.S.: For all our Dutch listeners attending the 2021 Dutch Grand Prix, please refrain from booing Hamilton this weekend.😎

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal preview the upcoming 2021 Dutch Grand Prix. A mix of Monaco, Hungary, Suzuka and maybe even Portimao - the duo is certain that Zandvoort's unique characteristics will make it stand out. The buzzword for this weekend's race? Tarzan, not the jungle boy, but the final banked corner of the circuit.

After 4 weeks no racing (yes, Spa included), we're hoping that racing resumes at Zandvoort. And then of course, the title rivalry to resume as well. The W12 or RB16B, which car will be the faster package around Zandvoort?

Also in this episode - the wildcard performances to look forward to - Lando Norris, George Russell and maybe even the Ferrari drivers? Also, watch out for the Safety Car(s) and Red Flags, we do think they'll make a few appearances this weekend. Tune in!

Half Points For No Race - 2021 NOT Belgian GP Review

Half Points For No Race - 2021 NOT Belgian GP Review

The Formula 1 teams-drivers had half points awarded for no race. So of course, you are now served a full Grand Prix length episode for no race. There are no team-driver performances to talk about - but Soumil and Kunal wonder if the FIA could have acted differently during the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix. Believe it or not, the alternate title for this episode was 'Michael Messy...'. Yes, we know that one man isn't to blame at all.

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, the duo discuss if 'money talks' was the reason why we had a four-hour long wait for two farcical laps under the Safety Car. Why could the race have not been postponed to Monday? Of course, not the best optics for the sport and rule book of Formula 1.

But there is much to celebrate from the weekend of the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix for George Russell and Williams. Similarly, in the could've-would've-should've scenarios, maybe Lando Norris would've scored pole position and race win in this race.

Sundaram 'F1 Stats Guru' Ramaswami shares some of the most-surprising stats from the race - yes, this race was a treat for stat lovers! And finally, this episode offers entertainment options for Formula 1 in case we have a similarly long delay next time around - a Formula 1 boy band, anyone? This one's a fun one, tune in!

Spa For Him & Her, 5 Things To Watch For - 2021 Belgian GP Preview

Spa For Him & Her, 5 Things To Watch For - 2021 Belgian GP Preview

Yeah, it's been a week of the 'Spa for him & spa for her' memes. But really, we think that Spa is for everyone. It is one of the most-iconic circuits in the world of Motorsport. But what makes Spa so special? What is the challenge of Spa for the teams-drivers come the weekend of the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix? And of course,  Soumil and Kunal share the ONE thing they both think you should watch for at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. (Read: F1 History & Stats, Spa-Francorchamps, Belgian GP)

In this Pits to Podium segment of the Inside Line F1 Podcast, Soumil and Kunal preview the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix to be held at the mystic and historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. After suffering from first lap mishaps in the last two races, Max Verstappen would be itching to have a clean race and take the battle to Lewis Hamilton.

Yes, there are 12 races remaining in this championship fight, but the races will come and go at a faster rate in the second half of the season. Momentum will be key and that's the ONE thing that Verstappen would be eager to resume. And of course, there's Ferrari vs. Mclaren + the uber-competitive mid-field battle, Fernando Alonso's extension with Alpine and the announcement of the 'Overtake Award'. Frankly, given Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez's grid penalties, the chance for an outsider to score a podium in the Belgian Grand Prix is fairly high.

Some thoughts

The humor paired with sports analysis is excellent! Some of their critiques of DTS are valid, but it is to the point now where they are turning off new North American fans to the pod as a result. Also, the audio quality sometimes is catastrophic.
