    12 I When Life Changes: Finding Your Rhythm in a New Season

    Have you ever entered a season you thought would give you more freedom, only to discover that you didn’t quite know what to do with it? Retirement, an empty nest, a caregiving season ending, a job change, loss, or another major life transition can remove the structure that shaped your days for years. Instead of immediately feeling lighter, you may find yourself feeling unsettled, unmotivated, or wondering why you haven’t figured out your new life yet. In this episode, we’re talking about why every season has a different rhythm—and why there may be an uncomfortable transition between the old one and the new one. Drawing from Ecclesiastes 3 and my own adjustment to retirement, we’ll explore the difference between structure for control and structure for freedom, why more available time doesn’t make every unfinished project urgent, and how one simple rhythm can help you feel grounded without creating another rigid schedule. You’ll leave with two questions to help you prayerfully consider what you want this season to make room for and how to begin living into it with greater grace and intention.

    11 I What's Stealing Your Peace? When Good Things Become Too Heavy

    Sometimes the things stealing our peace are not the big, obvious problems. They are the small obligations, systems, routines, and habits that started out helpful but slowly became one more thing to manage. In this episode, we talk about how something good—saving money, meal planning, exercising, organizing, volunteering, or trying to be productive—can begin costing more mental energy than it gives back. We’ll look at Psalm 103:13–14 and the comfort of knowing that God understands our limitations, and we’ll walk through a simple framework—Pray, Pause, Picture—to help you recognize what may need to be simplified, reduced, or released.     10 I When You're Overwhelmed: Learning to Depend on the Holy Spirit

    Have you ever known that the Holy Spirit lives within you, but still found yourself trying to carry everything on your own? When life gets loud, responsibilities pile up, decisions need to be made, and everyone seems to need something at once, it is easy to slip into self-reliance without even realizing it. We start pushing through, trying to fix everything, and believing that if we do not handle it, no one will. Sometimes the very moments when we most need God are the moments when we are least likely to slow down and ask for His help. In this episode, Jenny shares what she is learning in real time about depending on the Holy Spirit in the middle of overwhelm. She talks honestly about her tendency to go into “bulldozer mode,” the hidden weight of commitments that no longer fit, and the difference between waiting on God and continuing to ask for more confirmation when He may have already made the next step clear. Grounded in Romans 8:26–27, this conversation is a reminder that the Holy Spirit meets us in our weakness. We do not have to have the perfect words, the perfect plan, or every decision figured out. Sometimes dependence begins with something as simple as stopping, taking a breath, and praying, “Holy Spirit, I need You.” You’ll also be encouraged to consider what you may be carrying, controlling, or overthinking—and what one faithful step God may be inviting you to take next.

    Do you end the day mentally exhausted even when you cannot point to one particularly difficult thing you accomplished? Your attention may be more fragmented than you realize. In this episode, we explore why multitasking is usually task-switching, how interruptions affect your focus and peace, and how to protect your attention without creating another complicated system.     06 I Love People Without Carrying Them

    Do you feel responsible for making sure everyone around you is okay? You may be the one who solves the problems, remembers what everyone needs, keeps the family connected, and steps in when someone else fails to follow through. These may be acts of love—but helping can quietly turn into carrying responsibilities that were never yours. In this episode, we’ll explore the difference between helping someone carry a genuine burden and taking responsibility for the load they need to carry themselves. You’ll learn why stepping back can produce guilt, how to recognize when helping has become rescuing, and how to support the people you love without taking over. We’ll also look at the example of Jesus, who loved people deeply but did not allow every need or expectation to determine His choices.     05 I You Don't Need Another System: Slow Down Instead

    In this episode, we’re talking about what happens when life feels too full and our first instinct is to find a better system, routine, or way to get more done. Good systems can help, but they can’t make an overloaded life sustainable. Sometimes the better question isn’t “How can I fit all of this in?” but “Does all of this belong?” Through Jesus’ invitation to His disciples to step away and rest in Mark 6:31, we’ll look at why slowing down isn’t laziness, why margin isn’t wasted space, and how to recognize what God is actually asking you to carry in this season.
