Mel Grime

Women, Unfiltered is a show about the parts of being a woman that don't make it onto the highlight reel. Hosted by Mel, this podcast is built on real, honest & raw conversations with real women. The stories we've never said out loud and the ones we're finally ready to tell. Come for the honest conversation. Stay for the moments you feel seen and leave a little closer to yourself. Midlife Friendships with Sarah MacLachlan

Why does making and keeping friends feel so much harder in midlife? In this episode I’m joined by one of my besties, Sarah MacLachlan, for an honest conversation about adult friendships: how they change, why they matter more than ever, and what to do when one no longer fits. Sarah is a mum to sporty twin girls, wife to Greg (her “pool boy”), and the founder of Kindness Warrior. She grew up working in her family’s restaurant, and that’s grown into a passion for simple, realistic meals for busy mums. Sarah and I met at a trade show back in 2018, and our friendship has become one of the safest places in my life. We talk about moving from lots of friends to fewer, deeper ones, and why loneliness can show up even when you’re surrounded by people. We get into the emotional maturity that keeps a friendship strong: boundaries, honesty about capacity, and checking in. We also talk about the heartbreak of outgrowing a friendship, and why letting go can be an act of self-care. In this episode we talk about: How friendships change with each season of life, and how COVID changed Sarah’sWhy it’s so hard to keep up friendships as adults, and where midlife women can find new onesTaking off the mask and letting friends see the real youLoneliness in burnout, even with great people around youWhy making friends often starts with making friends with yourselfEmotional maturity in friendship: boundaries, honesty about capacity, and “do you have capacity for this?”Sarah’s 60/40 check-in, and why no relationship is ever truly 50/50Outgrowing friendships and grieving the ones that endProtecting your energy: noticing how you feel after you leave someoneThe gift of receiving, especially for givers and people pleasersLetting love guide your relationships Connect with Sarah: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mealprepwithsarah/ Connect with Mel: Website: https://www.melaniegrimerhn.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/melaniegrimerhn/ LinkedIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mel-grime-432912304/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AdamsAppleNutrition

Coming Home to Your Wild Self with Carley Johnson

What if everything you've been trying to fix is actually asking to be felt? In this episode, I sit down with Carley Johnson, author of Radical Revelry, Reiki master, yoga and mindfulness teacher, embodiment coach, and co-owner of the River Healing Centre in Orangeville. Carley guides women back to their raw, wild, unbroken selves, and her work was born from her own healing after severe anxiety, burnout, childhood trauma, and a true dark night of the soul. We talk about the moment Carley realized she couldn't keep holding up the version of herself everyone expected, why so many of us abandon ourselves without even noticing, and how women have been taught to distrust their own inner knowing. Carley shares her "empty well" idea, why true healing only happens from a full cup, and why so many women can't scream, even when no one is listening. If you've ever felt like you were performing your life, doubted what your body was telling you, or wondered how to begin coming back to yourself, this one is for you. Your Story Matters with Sarah Hepburn

Sarah Hepburn once thought her story was too ordinary to matter. Then she gave herself a quiet challenge: write 500 words a day for six weeks. Not knowing what else to write about, she started with her own life, and it changed how she saw herself. In this episode of Women, Unfiltered, I sit down with Sarah, a writer, the founder of Turning Pages Studio, and the bestselling author of Walking Forward. Sarah works with thoughtful women, often at a time of transition, reinvention or a midlife turning point, to turn a lifetime of wisdom into meaningful books, chapters and legacy stories. We talk about: How writing her own story helped Sarah uncover forgotten pieces of herself after becoming a motherWhy women feel the pull to write: to help others, to process a season of life, or to leave a legacyHow writing brings clarity, and the confidence to own your storyWhy we play down our own stories, and how comparison keeps us smallWriting from the scar, not the woundLetting go of perfectionism, because there are no neat bows on lifeSharing your story while respecting the people you loveWhat legacy really means: letting the people you love know who you were and what you stood forA simple 10-minute writing prompt you can try todayConnect with Sarah Sarah believes everyone has a story worth writing, and that sometimes it just takes a safe space and a trusted guide to tell it.
