The Tenth Petition

Weslie Odom

In the tenth petition of the Prayer of the Church, Christians pray every Sunday for the Lord's blessings on, "...the seedtime and harvest, the commerce and industry, the leisure and rest, the arts and culture of our people." We'll be taking a look at these in turn with a particular emphasis on "the arts and culture of our people" -- what role does beauty in all of its forms, in all of its deepest meanings play in the life of all mankind, and why ought the Christian have a care for it?
