Radiance Rising

Court & Tabi

Radiance Rising is a podcast about learning to listen when your body, your mind, and your life are trying to get your attention. Hosted by Court & Tabi, we explore the space where biology meets belief, where science meets self awareness, and where health becomes part of a much bigger conversation about how we live. Court brings the lens of the body, health, and biology. Tabi brings the lens of the mind, beliefs, and the patterns that shape how we experience our lives. Together, we unpack the places where those worlds overlap, from hormones, nervous system health, and longevity to identity, relationships, purpose, transformation, and the messy middle of becoming. We don't have it all figured out. We're asking the questions too, and sharing what we learn along the way, through honest conversation, real stories, and a good amount of curiosity about what it really means to feel well and live fully. Sometimes the first sign something needs to change is only a whisper. Radiance begins when we listen.

Ep. 6: The Hidden Reason We Stay Stuck

What if you’re not failing at change, but protecting something you haven’t seen yet? Episode 6 is about why change can be so hard, even when we genuinely want it. We look at the habits that keep us stuck beneath the surface, and how to get curious about them instead of turning them into proof that something is wrong with us. Courtney walks us through the Transtheoretical Model of Change and why change is a spiral, not a staircase. Tabitha brings in the Immunity to Change framework, and together we explore what a behavior is doing for you and what you might be trying to protect. Then we put it to work. Tabitha coaches Courtney live through the four column exercise, and you can follow along with a journal, so you can map one change of your own. Chapters 00:00 Welcome and check ins 01:43 When you want to change but keep doing the opposite 03:52 Courtney’s tension: screen time and presence 08:13 The Transtheoretical Model of Change 12:19 Change is a spiral, not a staircase 13:42 Coaches as thinking partners 16:10 What your behavior is giving you 19:09 Moving toward something, not just away from it 21:19 Immunity to change: the four column map 27:09 Noticing the response in your body 29:02 Column four: your big assumption 31:29 Live coaching: mapping Courtney’s change 42:08 One small experiment for the week 45:40 What surprised Courtney: saying it out loud 46:31 How to test an assumption 49:09 Try it yourself 49:35 Closing: you’re not failing at change Tools From This Episode Transtheoretical Model of Change: Precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, and termination. The stages belong to the behavior, not the person Immunity to Change: draw 4 columns on a page Column 1: What do I want to change? Say it as something you want to do Column 2: What am I doing, or not doing? Describe the behavior, not a judgment Column 3: What is my competing commitment? Imagine doing the opposite and notice what fear comes up Column 4: What is my big assumption? Write it as an if then statement, then say it out loud Test it with a small, low risk experiment: predict what will happen, observe what really happens, then ask what you learned Four Sentences To Try I want to ___ But I keep ___ If I changed the behavior, I might be afraid that ___ One small thing I could test is ___ Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: What is the behavior you keep repeating, and what might it be protecting? What is one small experiment you could test this week? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising.

Ep. 5: Who Is Your Future Self?

Is this future mine, or is it who I was taught I’m supposed to become? Episode 5 is about becoming, and how to tell whether the future you’re moving toward is truly yours or borrowed. We start with the idea that your future self isn’t a stranger to invent. She’s already showing up in small choices, if you know where to look. We talk about the difference between pretending and practicing, the psychology behind it, and the clues your body gives you along the way, including the voice of “should” hiding underneath what you think you want. We also name two traps to skip: hustle culture and toxic manifestation. Then we each share a story. Tabitha remembers the woman she met as a child who showed her what college could mean, and Courtney talks about the future she once pictured, and the quiet moment she realized she was ready to get off that train. Chapters 00:00 Welcome and check ins 01:42 What do I want versus what should I do 02:59 Your future self: “I am her, she is me” 05:45 Pretending versus practicing 10:17 Possible selves and the psychology of becoming 13:15 How exposure shapes who we can imagine becoming 15:15 Is this future mine, or borrowed? 16:05 What your body is telling you 23:07 The voice of “should” 26:34 Two traps: hustle culture and toxic manifestation 30:13 When your future self becomes an improvement project 31:41 Tabitha’s story: the woman who showed her college 35:44 Courtney’s story: getting off the train 42:16 Four questions to take with you 44:42 Closing: you’re becoming more fully yourself Ideas From This Episode Possible selves, from psychologists Hazel Markus and Paula Nurius: the versions of who we might become, the ones we hope for, expect, and even fear Future self continuity, from researcher Hal Hershfield: how connected you feel to the person you’re becoming The coin flip trick: give each option one side of a coin, flip it, and notice which side you’re hoping for before it lands Treat what your body tells you as one data point, not the whole answer Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: Where is your future self already showing up, in a decision, a boundary, or a habit? Is the future you’re picturing yours, or is it borrowed? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising.

    Ep. 4: The Space Between

What happens when you’re no longer who you were, and not yet who you’re becoming? Episode 4 is about the space in between. After a few episodes of cracking open, we look at what it feels like to stand between the person you were and the person you’re becoming, and why it’s so hard to stay there. We name what the in between feels like, the doubt, the guilt, and the flicker underneath. Courtney shares how her relationship with alcohol became an identity shift, and Tabitha opens up about the beliefs she’s setting down as she steps into her next chapter. Then we get practical: why this phase is so tiring for your nervous system, and simple tools you can use at your desk, plus a journal entry from the middle of it. Chapters 00:00 Welcome and check ins 05:28 The space between who you were and who you’re becoming 07:49 What the in between feels like 10:40 Courtney’s in between: alcohol and identity 17:05 Gremlins, journaling, and the beliefs we’re setting down 25:13 Starting before you feel ready 30:07 The Valley of Suck and why the in between feels so threatening 35:38 Vagus nerve tools you can use today 44:51 A journal entry from the in between 49:00 Three things to leave you with 50:55 Closing: the moon is always whole Tools From This Episode -Ear massage: light, slow circles for 30 to 60 seconds each on the tragus (the small flap in front of your ear canal), the cymba conchae (just above the ear canal), and the earlobe -Slow exhales: a deep inhale followed by a long, slow exhale -Humming or singing -Rhythmic movement, like walking or gentle stretching -Cold water Link to Instagram video on the journey into entrepreneurship: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DauZpmaIbTq/ Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: What in between are you in right now, and what do you need to release to reach the next place? What is the flicker underneath the doubt that you refuse to ignore? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising.

Radiance Rising: In The Making (Bonus Episode!)

What does it take to turn an idea between two friends into something real? This one is different than the rest. Instead of walking through an invitation, we sat down together in person for the first time since we started this whole thing, cameras rolling on launch day itself, and talked honestly about what it took to build Radiance Rising and what nobody sees from the outside. We talk numbers: roughly 500 hours between the two of us from idea to launch, about 20 hours to edit episode one alone, and the decision we didn't want to make, moving from a weekly release to biweekly, because we wanted this to stay something we love instead of one more deadline. We also get personal about the parts that are harder to admit, the perfectionism, the pressure of being authentic on a public platform, and what it means to live out what we're teaching, not just talk about it. And we tell you honestly what launch morning looked like, alarms, dogs, and spotty plane wifi included. Chapters 00:10 Launch day, together in person for the first time 02:16 The timeline: from "we have so much time" to launch day 04:06 Dividing responsibilities: the CEO and the COO 05:25 The real hours behind the episodes 06:18 Doing the math: about 500 hours from idea to launch 07:15 Why they chose biweekly over weekly 13:40 Practicing what they preach 15:27 The hardest part of the journey, for each of them 22:45 Favorite episodes, and becoming a household name in each other's lives 25:57 Launch morning, in real time 29:27 Closing: the moon is always whole Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: What would you build if you gave yourself permission to do it imperfectly? Is there something in your life you talk about wanting, but haven't given real hours to yet? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising.

Ep 2: From Burnout to Burning Bright

What if rest isn't the reward for finishing the work, but part of how the work gets done? Episode 2 is Tabitha’s story. We hand you the framework at the heart of Radiance Rising, 5 invitations we’ve come to recognize in every meaningful season of change: Begin, Build, Become, Reveal, and Restore. We walk through it using her own life. Her move to Chicago for grad school as her clearest Begin. The fitness competition that taught her the difference between motivation and commitment. And the promotion she spent two years chasing that, once she finally got it, revealed a transformation that had already happened. We also talk honestly about rest, and what her trip to Hawaii taught her about the difference between withdrawal and true restoration. Chapters 00:00 Welcome back and a check in 01:33 Revisiting the lie of linear growth 14:46 Begin: what wants to emerge 20:18 Build: showing up before you have proof 29:23 Become: who you're becoming, not just what you're achieving 33:39 Reveal: letting people see what you've cultivated 39:17 Restore: why rest is part of the work 44:40 One question to ask yourself this week 46:10 Closing: the moon is always whole Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: Which of the five invitations, Begin, Build, Become, Reveal, or Restore, is quietly asking for your attention right now? What would it look like to answer that invitation instead of rushing past it? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising.

Ep 1: The Lie of Constant Growth

What if the pressure to always be growing is getting in the way of growth? In episode 1 of Radiance Rising, we’re challenging the idea that transformation should always look like forward motion. Life moves in cycles. Yet so often, we treat the quieter phases as something to fix or rush through. We share the personal experiences that taught us this in very different ways. Courtney talks about moving to Amsterdam just before the world shut down and how an unexpected pause changed her relationship with health, identity, and what she wanted from her life. Tabitha shares her journey from survival mode and achievement toward a deeper understanding of what it means to truly flourish. We also introduce the framework at the heart of Radiance Rising, inspired by the phases of the moon, and the 3 AM moment when the idea first came together. And because this is us, we eventually end up in Ireland, where a St. Patrick’s Day trip, one hotel bed, too many Bulmers ciders, and a missed tour turned two almost strangers into lifelong friends. Chapters 00:00 Welcome to Radiance Rising 02:12 The lie of linear growth 05:42 Our own transformation stories 16:37 Curiosity and self inquiry 20:12 Recognizing the phase you're in 24:01 The moon as a framework for change 30:04 How we met 35:36 The Ireland story 43:19 Listening to the body's whispers Before you leave, ask yourself two questions: What has your body been trying to tell you that you’ve been too busy to hear? What phase of life are you in right now? The moon is always whole. And so are you. Keep rising
