    Ebola, Killer Robots, and Trump’s Victory Arch

    If a deadly virus doesn’t get you, a killer robot will. Or so this week’s headlines might have you believe.  The official case count in the Ebola outbreak in Congo is now at 6,300. The infection fatality rate is nearly 50%, making this a disease to watch. At this rate, it will surpass the West African outbreak of 2014 before it finally burns out.  Elsewhere, AI-powered weapons systems are increasingly finding their way to battlefields, especially in Ukraine, Gaza, and Iran. It’s been confirmed that autonomous weapons have eliminated or forced the surrender of Russian soldiers, crossing the line to the Terminator scenario.  How long before police departments deploy autonomous weapons systems? We also discuss President Trump’s proposed arch in Washington DC, inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It's likely the president is not aware of the pagan significance of the arch, which has generated some pushback in the form of a legal challenge.     The Universe is Flying Apart Faster Than Expected

    EVERY TIME someone says, "The science is settled," take it with a grain of salt. A new report shows that the universe is expanding faster than current models predict. What does that mean? It's possible that current models of the universe are flawed, which means scientists may have to rewrite the rules by which they think the universe operates. "He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision" (Psalm 2:4, ESV). We recognize the verse is not directed at human scientists, but it does seem appropriate. This story led to a deep discussion of the nature of time, eternity, and why we humans are not created to live forever in our current bodies. We also discuss the rise in technocratic bureaucracy, as evidenced by the spread of Flock AI-powered surveillance cameras in American cities and the proposal by the World Health Organization for a $30 billion budget to prevent future pandemics. (Bear in mind the total WHO budget last year was just over $3 billion.) That led to a brief discussion of the news this week that the US federal deficit officially hit $40 trillion. That's about a third of the actual debt when you include unfunded liabilities like Social Security and Medicare.  Also, two former congressman wrote a piece for the Wall Street Journal recently debunking the official narrative that the 2008 subprime mortgage collapse was the result of greedy lenders and investors. It was, in fact, the result of government policies that led to mortgages being written for unqualified borrowers in the pursuit of government social engineering policies. But rather than putting blame on government, the official story blamed Wall Street to justify even more government control over the free market. Finally, we discussed the tragic mudslide and flash flood in Nepal and Tibet this week. That brought to mind something we discussed 20 years ago about the potential of a catastrophic mega-tsunami caused by the collapse of the La Palma volcano in the Canary Islands.     Throwback Thursday: Earthquakes in Diverse Places

    It’s Throwback Thursday. This week, it’s a timely discussion given this week’s devastating and deadly earthquake-induced landslide and flash flood on the border between Nepal and Tibet. Originally released May 18, 2008 MORE than 50,000 people are estimated to have died in the May 12 earthquake in China, many of whom still lie beneath rubble scattered across an area the size of Belgium. Elsewhere, the city of Reno, Nevada looks nervously to the northwest, where thousands of minor earthquakes have rattled the area since February 28. Scientists are puzzled by this cluster because they don’t fit any known pattern. And here in the Midwestern U.S., we were startled by a M5.2 earthquake centered in southeast Illinois on April 18, the second strongest earthquake recorded in the state since the arrival of white settlers in the early 19th century. What’s with all of the unusual seismic activity? And how does this relate to biblical prophecies of catastrophic global earthquakes in the end times? David W.     The Call to Power

    MUSLIMS ARE planning enclaves that could put self-contained religious communities near Dallas and Houston. Meanwhile, amplifiers broadcast the call to prayer in American cities like Minneapolis, Dearborn and Hamtramck, Michigan, and Paterson, New Jersey. Imams are growing increasingly bold in their statements that their goal is to turn America into a Muslim nation. What most Americans don’t realize is that there is no separation of church and state in Islam. The church IS the state, for all intents and purposes. But more than that, this is a spiritual war that the god of Muhammad—who is not to be confused with the triune God of the Bible—intends to win. Here's the link to the article Derek mentioned, "A Call to Power: Islamic Leaders See Ballot Box as Path to Paradise," by Paul Sperry. That fact is also behind a statement issued by the foreign ministers of Turkey, the UAE, Indonesia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. In a joint statement, the ministers objected to Israel’s plan to build 3,400 new dwellings in an area east of Jerusalem called E1. They complain that this would separate Arab neighborhoods in East Jerusalem from the rest of the so-called West Bank, blocking the creation of a future Palestinian state with its capital at Jerusalem. From the Israeli standpoint, that is rather the point. After the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Israel will not accept an independent Palestinian state on its borders. Further eroding the situation in the Middle East, Turkey has issued an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Turks are seeking an Interpol red notice for the arrest of Netanyahu as part of a criminal case against him for Israel’s interception of an aid flotilla sailing for Gaza back in May. The charges include genocide, crimes against humanity and torture. Well, good luck with that. We also discussed a plan to build data centers around the ring of fire, the volcanically active area around the Pacific Ocean, using geothermal energy to power the centers. Tapping into volcanoes to generate electricity. What can possibly go wrong? Also: Social media is causing an epidemic of mental and spiritual illness, as evidenced by the crowd of women who gathered outside the courthouse in Plymouth, Massachusetts Thursday in support of Lindsay Clancy, who has admitted to killing her three children. Granted, postpartum depression is a real thing. But that doesn’t mean Clancy shouldn’t be held accountable for what she did.     The Strong Covenant

    A MIDDLE EASTERN nation reportedly advised another to seek peace with Israel—not as an end to war, but in preparation for it.  The report by Israel’s public radio, KAN News, claims the unnamed nation suggested its counterpart reach an agreement with Israel with the intention of violating it later while preparing for a wider military conflict. Neither nation was identified in the report, which raises many questions. Is it Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, or another traditional enemy of Israel? Could this be "strong covenant with many" prophesied in the book of Daniel? We also discuss a chilling story from Canada about an elderly woman who was put to death under that nation’s Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) policy, despite the family’s insistence that she was not mentally capable of making such a decision and the lack of evidence that she had given approval.     Throwback Thursday: Money for Nothing and Kids for Free

    It’s Throwback Thursday. This week, we go back 2008 for a discussion about the elites’ push for global government and reports of spiritual warfare, including demonic possession, in the mainstream media. Originally released March 17, 2008 OUR planned guest for tonight, Dr. Jerome Corsi, had to reschedule for next week. That worked out fine for us, because we had plenty to talk about — whether you choose to classify it as “blather” is up to you. The first half of the show was devoted to a little-publicized meeting last week held at the U.S. Department of State. It was essentially a brainstorming session by representatives of a number of multinational corporations on further integrating the U.S., Canada, and Mexico into the Security and Prosperity Partnership (i.e., the North American Union), and then integrating the continent into a Transatlantic Economic Council. Sounds like a push for global government. Interesting, too, that this is happening with the advice of major business leaders but without the participation of the United States Congress, whose consent to such treaties is required by the Constitution.
