Bringing our Tribe Together

It is so refreshing to listen to this podcast.
Antrese has a wonderful way of making us all feel like we are going through this art path together. I have heard so many like stories from these artists she has interviewed. Also learning so much from all of them. We are all kindred art spirits and we need to talk and identify with all aspects. From how we began to where we are headed. She takes us on her journey as well! Good for you Antrese. Good luck on moving to another country and I hope we get to hear all about it.

Starting to slip

This has been a consistent podcast until recently. Generally good guests and often something to be learned. More recently, the guest selection has been more flaky and more time spent on "touchy feely" discussion often unrelated directly to art. Maybe Antrese is heading in a new direction-we'll see.

Life changing

This podcast has truly been life changing for me. I discovered it very early on in 2014, while I was as far as possible from being a full time painter. I’d convinced myself a lot of other things were more important, but none of them felt right compared to painting. Over the past four years, these interviews educated and inspired me, inch by inch, to make tiny leaps to realizing this dream. I’ve learned my struggles and fears are not only NOT disqualifiers, but rites of passage to becoming an artist. Perhaps I was one the whole time....Hearing the stories of these artists helped me see that I could in fact get from “here to there” despite all the roadblocks.
I’ve held off on leaving feedback all this time because I wanted to be able to stand behind my words. And now I can. I spent years in the Navy wondering why nobody else thought like me, what I must be doing wrong... and then, in these interviews, i heard myself. People who HAD to paint, people who also had real jobs first, mothers, wives, travelers, readers. It made being an “artist” less of the esoteric status that was reserved for the most sophisticated among us and more of a way of life that was truly open to any who is willing to respond to it. Thank you, Antrese, for being so instrumental in this journey!
