Wheat and chaff

I’ll reiterate most of what the other more critical reviews have already stated. The first 30 minutes of most episodes involve the two hosts yelling, bickering, and talking over each other, and it’s so garbled at times that it’s almost impossible to hear what anyone is saying.

The regular gags/bits on the show are 90% awful; e.g. the host being from England, and the other host talking over the “editor;” this is literally the worst one, because you can’t hear what either person is saying. Once again, if I’m listening to something that is specifically made as a spoken word audio format and I can’t understand what is being said, then what’s the point? The box office review bit is good.

The ads are insanely long. No ad on a podcast should be 5 minutes long; just read the ad copy and move on. Not every ad needs to be an exploration of some half-baked comedy idea to sell website domains or whatever.

The worst sin the hosts commit is that they spend so little time critically talking about the movies. If an episode is 1 hour and 45 minutes, you’re lucky to get 20 good minutes of movie talk. It’s a shame, they have a good idea for a show, but there is so little effort devoted to quality.

Best Podcast For Movie Lovers

No joke, this podcast saved me from road rage when I had to drive 85 minutes to work every day for a year. I can't give it higher praise than that.
