I found this podcast during the pandemic and I have been regularly listening to it ever since. It is truly delightful to hear such well-read hosts talk about books of every genre imaginable. This podcast has helped me find so many books I never would’ve known about if I hadn’t been listening. Liberty Hardy in particular is really impressive - her joy for books is palpable and her love of cats and bird watching are fun extras.

I really love this podcast, and have read so many great books recommended by the hosts. That said, since the format changed from each host talking about 3 titles in depth to each host talking about 5-10 titles they are excited to read, I struggle to pay attention. I hope for a return to the more substantive recommendations in the future.

Update April 2026. Changed to one star. The entire format has changed to where the hosts just speak randomly about a book they are reading, a book they've heard of, and book news you can find on the main podcast. No longer seems to be a weekly show but that's fine. I have lost all interest. Just really disappointing. This used to be my favorite podcast. Listened religiously to the Well Read Heads. Still love Liberty but Rebecca moved on (fair, she doesn't have to stay committed to the pod forever) but was replaced by a revolving door of cohosts who basically range from "meh" to unlistenable. I don't know how else to kindly say not everyone is meant for podcasting. I'm certainly not. The episodes with Emily are especially painful. PLEASE revamp this show again. I miss it!
