    This week, we dive into what happened with data compromises in the first three months of this year. As you may recall, we ended 2023 with the highest number of publicly reported data compromises in a single year since the ITRC started tracking breach notices in 2005. All forms of compromises, including breaches where personal information was stolen, totaled 3203 – a 72 percent increase over the previous record high set in 2021.
