Influence This | Episode 9: McKenna Peterson
McKenna Peterson is a professional skier in the winter and a professional boat captain in the summer. Born and raised in beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho, Peterson grew up racing on the Sun Valley Ski Team and eventually raced for UC Boulder on the USCSA team. After being introduced to big mountain skiing and the Freeskiing World Tour a year after collegiate racing, McKenna said goodbye to her skinny skis and started competing in Big Mountain competitions. Since starting on the World Tour, McKenna has been in several Warren Miller films, MSP films, and other independent off-shoots. She is still focused on competing but has focused a lot of energy on her grieving process and becoming a mentor to other women in the industry.

Influence This | Episode 7: Jeremy Jones
Jeremy Jones is a professional snowboarder, husband, father, entrepreneur, and climate activist. Jones founded Jones Snowboards in 2010 as well as the non-profit group, Protect our Winters in 2007, which works to reduce the effects of global climate change by means of educational and community-based projects.
Jones is a pivotal figure in Big Mountain riding, and has changed the way the world looks at snowboarding through his long list of first descents. His accomplishments off the mountain are just as legendary as he attempts to unite the outdoor world against a warming planet.

John Padilla is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of JackStrong17, a teen suicide prevention company that works with film and other forms of media to spread awareness about the growing rate of suicide in modern-day culture amongst teens. Padilla has staged school walkouts, helped pass anti-bullying legislation, and done media appearances to help spread the word about this growing problem. His newest film called The Mountain in My Mind follows 6 pro-athletes who have been affected by suicide and mental health. It premieres October 14th in Bozeman, Montana.
Influence This | Episode 5: Eduardo Garcia
Eduardo Garcia is a chef, outdoor enthusiast, storyteller, and survivor. Garcia was shocked with 2400 volts of electricity when he touched a dead bear in the mountains near his childhood home in Paradise Valley, Montana. He lost his left arm, several ribs and nearly his life. Before his near-death experience, Garcia traveled all over the world on several yachts throughout his career, started his own sauce and spice brand Montana Mex, and is now the star of a new show on Magnolia Networks, Big Sky Kitchen. Chris Walch, founder of Women of Winter, whose mission is to inspire and empower women and girls to get outside, to be courageous and to boldly embrace and pursue their dreams by carving their own paths in the mountains and in life. Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Chris still grew up with the mountains in her blood. Her dad hails from Tirol, Austria, where she first learned to ski and started teaching skiing at a small family resort. Since then she’s taught in St. Moritz, Switzerland, Killington and now Big Sky, Montana at the Yellowstone Club.
