Two people, two chairs, one conversation, no gimmicks. Known for his unique, honest and sometimes comedic interview technique, Andrew Denton gets under the guard of amazing human beings, finding out who they are away from the headlines. This podcast, a companion to the TV series, features plenty of material we couldn’t get to air and behind the scenes insights into Andrew’s motivation and approach.
We all remember first seeing Jess as that kid from Darwin on Australian Idol, the shy girl who didn’t need to win that competition to be a star. Her voice and that inner radiance did it all. She’s since had a string of hits, sung with Snoop Dogg, suppo...

Denton’s master interviewing is a joy to listen to!
As an Aussie living abroad, I’ve missed seeing/hearing Andrew Denton’s interviews. Even when I still have a fleeting doubt about the interviewee and whether I’d find them interesting, I now know to just always listen regardless. There is good reason Denton is legendary for his interviews- he brings humor, empathy, and humanity at appropriate times; he challenges and digs deeper when needed; he treats his guests with utmost respect; and his genuine interest in understanding a person and hearing their stories always shines through. I’ve especially loved his commentary in the podcast and hearing a little about his process and what happens behind the scenes before, during and post show.
