My son’s endo abandoned us.

I’m so grateful I found this podcast. My son was diagnosed with Type 1 on May 15, 2020, at 18 months old. When we were in the hospital, my husband and I had endless questions, as I’m sure most of us do. Once we got home, and especially once we had his Dexcom, I had a million questions. Every time had had the chance to talk to our doctor on the phone, which was maybe 3 times, she was super short and would literally cut me off and say “Ok take care!” and hang up. Repeatedly we would receive conflicting information from the nursing staff. They would say our doctor would call us and she never would. I was pulling my hair out, as you can imagine.

This podcast gave me to confidence to trust my gut and make small, intelligent adjustments on my own, instead of waiting for the doctor’s suggestion. His Dexcom graph is SO much smoother, his mood is so much happier, and I truly feel like we are giving him the best chance at a healthy life with diabetes.

I cannot thank Scott (and Jenny!!) enough for the work that they do for this community.

Gives you the tools you need to successfully manage your diabetes

I am a mother of 2 diabetics. Before I started the podcast I was struggling to manage both of my kid’s diabetes. Within 6 months of listening to the podcast and using the tools discussed by Scott oldest son went from a A1C of 11 to a 6.4 and my youngest from a 9 to a 6. Fast forward to a year after starting the podcast my oldest is now at a 5.7 and my youngest a 5.2. Scott has forever changed our lives and the health of my children. I would definitely suggest this podcast to anyone newly diagnosed, parents of diabetics, and those struggling like I was. Thank you Scott for providing this podcast and sharing your knowledge on diabetes management!

Must listen for those with/caring for T1D

This show’s Pro Tip series has literally changed my life. My son was diagnosed with T1D 5 months ago, a few weeks before he turned too. I knew NOTHING about T1D and the past 5 months have been a struggle. My sons “honeymoon” period last a few days and then every day was a battle of highs and lows, even with an Omnipod and Dexcom. I had instincts on what I needed to do for him, but felt scared because the endo shut down all my ideas and suggestions. I truly felt hopeless and out of control and scared for my sons health. Then I had this podcast recommended to me by another T1D mom, and it was life changing. All of my “instincts” were validated and most of my fears eased. It shifted my perspective on T1D and medical devices. Within two days of listening to this podcast, my sons average glucose levels went from 150 to 119. His spikes past 200 disappeared or became a rarity. Most importantly, after listening to the Pro tip series, I feel so much more in control and less fearful about his diabetes. I feel empowered to make decisions I know are right for him and “trust that what I think is going to happen, will happen.” I know every day won’t be perfect, but after this podcast I feel up to the challenge for the first time since he was diagnosed. I finally feel like a good mom again. Thank you!
