It only happens once a year but today is that day, where the Last Wave and the Last Wave After Dark are released simultaneously. That means, if you're not already a member of the Patreon, now's the best time to get onboard and get access to a backlog of very special episodes devoted to soundtracks, composers, even special guests. It's only $2.22 a month (hence the 22nd of every month) so it's less than a cup of coffee but by supporting the show, you help us keep the lights on at the KVGM studio.

This week, we've got flight simulator grooves, racing grooves, extra dirty visual novel grooves, even cooking and billiard grooves. Of course, we've some classic composers in the house but also some new names. Plenty to dig into as we inch closer and closer to the 200th episode...and possibly the end of the Last Wave?

We back with more jams, more PlayStations, more Game Boys, a Dreamcast, a personal computer, and a specially requested arcade diddy. And if you've submitted a request and have yet to hear it, don't worry, it's coming. But please continue submitting jams and we'll definitely play them on the show at some point.

Welcome to May, spring is in full bloom and the jams are breezin' ala George Benson. We make a return trip to the interactive world of Scrabble, get a little naughty on the PC, hang out with animal friends, play some SLOTS!, and really channel our emotions with some slow jams. Plus, a special request from Normally Retro for the cherry on top.

Lots of BACKGROUND MUSIC this week, with some unknown composers (no thanks to the KVGM Summer Interns). But you know, that's okay...because the music more than makes up for the lack of information. We've got horse tracks, tourism tracks, picross tracks, powerful grandpa tracks, mahjong tracks, basketball beat 'em up tracks...even a little visual novel to check the boxes. If you want to help the summer interns by completing some of these "unknowns", please reach out - kvgmradio@gmail.com. Help us help you.

More jams, more jams, more jams. More mahjong, more visual novel smut, more picross late night action, more Nobuo Uematsu. Hopefully you find something you enjoy in here...hopefully you enjoy it all. If you don't enjoy any of it, maybe you should be listening to our sister show, KVGM "Afteryachts", featuring some of the best dad yacht rock in video games.

Chillest and Illest

We love VGM of different stripes, but let’s face it 99% of the time we want the chill stuff. This is a great channel to run in the background while getting things done. Thanks, KVGM.

The Best VGM Podcast on the Planet

Hammock hits all my T spots, from the hilarious commentary to the silky smooth VGM jams. I look forward to listening to this podcast every week, and the amount of deep cuts and hidden gems in Hammock's selections are incredible! Even my friends who don't like video game music can't help but jam out to the Last Wave on KVGM.

Pixel Beach Dreamy

Hammock touches on all the right vibes, seemingly not a stranger to eclectic sounds. The Last Wave is stimulating easy listening like working a long day outside on a beautiful high alpine lake, taking some moments of repite to enjoy the lapping water. Wholesome. I love the way Hammock blends fresh foreign jazz and hip hop tracks with 8 bit tunes that take me back to my childhood play throughs Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. The Last Wave is a good one to ride.
