    Profile headline should be concise and informative 1. You might be a jack of all trades but in your LinkedIn headline, you should mention the skills you are mastered at. 2. Should display your niche skills because they are your selling points. 3. Shouldn’t be too excessive information or overused phrases. It doesn’t need to be your current role. 4. Professional profile picture should be there. Not the one from your last vacation. -------------------------------------------------------------- Your Linkedin profile should be up to date all the time 1. Your profile should always be up to date Ex:  up skills, and certificates, role changes. 2. Make sure to include the keywords related to the job you are searching for. 3. Make sure the text is grammatical error free because if there are any errors then it shows that you don’t care about your profile. --------------------------------------------------------------- Keep growing your network time on time 1. Keep adding people to your network that you come across professionally. Like as network events, uni programs, boot camps… 2. Never stop growing your network.     4: What would I do differently if I had to start all over again as an Immigrant?

    I don’t wait until the very end 1. The longer you wait the more chances you miss. 2. When it comes to using the time as an immigrant you have to start asap. Time is the most important and valuable commodity. 3. Assess the job market around you, and the skills needed, assess yourself, and identify what are the skills you are lacking. ------------------------------ I will figure out what I want to do 1. If you try 1000 things without really knowing what you want to do  then it’s a waste of time 2. Assess all the possibilities, you’re passionate about and decide what you want to do. 3. It doesn’t need to be only getting a job, it can be business also if that’s your ultimate goal. 4. Check all the visa conditions also like whether you are allowed  to work, do business and later pathways to get the PR, Citizenship ------------------------------ Filling the knowledge gap by learning the skills 1. Only your master’s or Bachelor’s degree won’t fetch you a job.  You have to go that extra mile and improve your skills. 2. After assessing my skills, I would focus on the most in-demand skills that I am lacking. 3. It’s not only about Hard skills but also about soft skills. ------------------------------ Seeking for help 1. Never hesitate to take professional help. Like paid services. 2. We spend a lot of money on unnecessary things, entertainment but why not on you? Hire a good professional career coach or job strategist to help you along the journey. 3. Not just for one month or two, keep in touch with them and seeking for their suggestions. Continue that relationship. ------------------------------ Building the professional network 1. Building a professional network in your city or the country you are immigrating is very important and key role. 2. You can build a professional network while playing team sports like Cricket, basketball, or Volleyball. Sports grounds are the best places to improve the network. 3. Ask for their experiences and learn one or two things from them.  Things might be different from they migrated but still, you can learn. ------------------------------ Take it easy, don’t stress out 1.     Today's topic is how important is it to have a good mentor for professional growth?. -- Do we really need mentors in our professional development? -- Yes, we absolutely need Mentors for our professional and personal growth also it depends upon the individual.  -- What do mentors do and how will they help you in your early stages and along the way? -- 1. They will help you to overcome the obstacles in your professional career and set some goals. 2. They will help you improve your soft skills and tech skills and they act as a source of knowledge. 3. Most importantly they are accessible free sources of your faithful ally. You don’t need to pay for their services. 4. A better understanding of problem-solving. 5. Over time you will also know your mentor's friends, which means it directly or indirectly helps you build your network. 6. Having a critic and supporter at the same time 7. Just by working with them and learning from them, you will also become a good listener. 8. you will build leadership skills and be accountable for your work, and build a healthy relationship with your co-workers. 9. You can learn from mentors' mistakes and also. -- How to find good mentors and what are the important steps? -- 1. you have to search who are the people who have already traveled on this path and achieved success that aligns with your short and long-term goals 2.
