The moon is not a frontier like Earth. It’s an environment that degrades human health. Low gravity weakens bones and muscles. Isolation in sealed environments degrades mental health. There’s no open air, sun-grown food, or grassy pastures. You’re talking about inhabiting a confined artificial box indefinitely and calling that living.
Try that here on Earth. Spend a year indoors with no walking outside, no fresh air, no lush landscape or sun-grown food. That would provide you with a realistic experience.
From an economic perspective, a lunar colony would be a huge drain on taxpayers. Most taxpayers are struggling with rising healthcare costs, climate-driven disasters, high insurance costs, and unaffordable housing. We have solvable problems right here on Earth that compete for taxpayer funding.
Exploring space is one thing. Colonization is another. I wish you could appreciate the extraordinary splendor of Earth: the sunlight on your face, the fresh air, the wildlife, the amazing food. Instead, you romanticize about a lifeless rock with no atmosphere.
Why are people so eager to divert resources away from protecting our living, breathing, life-supporting, fragile, and irreplaceable Earth?
