Lost Boys

I agree in that boys need men to step up and take charge and inspire them. Our boys need technical classes in schools. They need their own clubs. I also am concerned that we are facing a crisis in women’s health that men need to support as well. It’s not just one thing. No one should be seen as weaker because they are different. Encourage individual strengths of everyone!

Thank you to all who make this possible, it’s been truly breathtaking and a weight of my shoulders personally to hear voices explain and put to words relatable struggles. Loving this show and the candor and humility of the hosts. Some humble bragging but it’s likely unavoidable. Deirdre really added another element of responsibility as well. My gen x friends and I always talk about the stark differences in how we were raised versus how we raised our kids. I would argue that Gen X is the last generation who were raised like their kids in an old school manner. We were raised on bmx bikes snowball fights and afternoon cartoons. And to your question about what changed, look into the Jacob Wetterling effect. We talk about it a lot. To us in MN that was a fundamental shift in how parents addressed oversight of their kids.

They’re definitely creating an interesting dialogue around this topic. As someone who does not have children but works with children, I see the issue of struggling young boys day in and day out. However, I must note that the last episode was somewhat out of touch. Perhaps the beautiful Subaru comment from Deidre shouldn’t have made the cut. It would be wise to add guests who live in middle class America, after all that is where mostof these boys are growing up. Sincerely, a proud Subaru owner by choice.
