😬 Are you resisting conviction? This episode could be seen as a continuation of last week’s episode which was a break down of why you may be feeling like your prayers aren’t being answered and what to do about it. Last week I shared 4 reasons why you feel like your prayers aren’t being answered so let’s call this week reason #5 which is… you resist conviction. Grab your prayer journals and notebooks and get ready to take notes! 🤔What Is Conviction? Conviction: primarily refers to 1. the Holy Spirit exposing sin, or 2. a deep, unwavering belief in God’s truth The One Who Convicts = HOLY SPIRIT OR YAH/THE MOST HIGH GOD! To understand conviction you MUST be clear on the one who is doing the convicting. The enemy has blurred the lines on who’s actually convicting but we’re making it clear today! 🥊 Conviction vs Judgement: Judgement: the act or process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing Conviction serves as a form of judgement with the intention to help you choose the righteous path. 🥊 Conviction vs Attack: Attack: a belligerent or antagonistic action Conviction attacks unrighteousness, shining a light on what Yah approves and disapproves of. 🥊 Conviction vs Condemnation: Condemn: to declare to be reprehensible, wrong, or evil usually after weighing evidence and without reservation. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17 Conviction is the way of escape from blame, and the evil we may have committed. 🤝🏾PERSPECTIVE SHIFT: ✨Conviction provides the option to avoid consequences✨ Anything that makes you need God is GOOD FOR YOU. - Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. ✅ How Holy Spirit Convicts Us: * Through His word 12 For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged [a]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [b]soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 AMP * Through preaching 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1 Corinthians 1:18-21 * Through dreams 15 “In a dream, a vision of the night [one may hear God’s voice], When deep sleep falls on men, While slumbering upon the bed, 16 Then He opens the ears of men And seals their instruction, 17 That He may turn man aside from his conduct, And keep him from pride; Job 33:15-17 AMP * Through people (prophets, family, friends etc.) 16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. Ezekiel 3:16-17 🙌🏾 How to Respond to Conviction: ✨Conviction is a conduit to cultivate character. Allow the conviction to call out our character flaws and seek to fix them through the word of Yah ✨Conviction is an invitation to know Yah’s ways. Commit to learning Yah’s ways through scripture, and the preached word. ✨Holy Spirit uses conviction as a spiritual auditor. Sit with the pain, REPENT, CONFESS. PROCESS and make NEW righteous choices. ✨Conviction signals us to make a new choice for our safety and benefit.
