Found when needed
At the height of my own first burnout, I found your podcast. Thank you so much for speaking about your experiences. I’m 1 episode in and feel like I’m not alone.
BingeWorthy.
So grateful for the brave, wonderful work you’re doing, Megan! 👏🙌🙏
Real, authentic, relatable
I am hooked after listening to the episode on burnout and anti-hustle culture/mindset. I’m an LCSW in CT and have worked for nursing homes, EMPS, the local hospital in the adolescent IOP, adult IOP, DDIOP, and the ER and have found my way into private practice at a young age as well. I was feeling the burnout in the hospital/agency setting, especially in the pandemic. I started counting the weeks to when we “thought” things would be better. At week 42, I couldn’t anymore; each proposal I made for a raise, or discount on my benefits, for adding a few more paid hours to account for the overtime I did regularly, or asking about student loan forgiveness, I was met with the idea that I should feel indebted and grateful for my employment. I decided I made them TONS of money and it was time to make me money and actually have a balanced life that wasn’t exhausted, crying on the weekends, and trying to sandwich all my hobbies, memories with family and rest into 48 hours. This podcast made me feel less alone, more empowered that my choices are solid choices that other social workers make when they are able to take risks, and it overall really resonated with me. You have me hooked and I am a believer in this podcast!
