It just keeps getting worse. In Ep. 164 about Blurse, they repeatedly misstate how cards work, contrasting False Covenant with Blasphemous Covenant while consistently misreading the former as returning the Curse token to the bag. They then offer the hot take that Blasphemous Covenant is better, which is literally and irrefutably true if you misread the cards to be identical but for the bonus. Later in the episode, they all complain about the anachronism of Guided by Faith showing a coat that appeared a century older than the era. “Yeah! What game are we playing?!” Moments later, one host points out that some players have complained about the scene in Beguiled being anachronistic in the other direction, leading to a denunciation of the “veiled” bigotry of some Arkham players. “Not trying to get political,” muses Sean, “but if you’re using the word ‘woke’ unironically, you need to evaluate your life choices.” Indeed. The only thing worse is being woke unironically. Ignorance is annoying. When it’s coupled with arrogance, it’s worse. When arrogant ignorance is coupled with self-righteous sanctimony, it’s particularly annoying. If only they prepped their shows a little, I’d feel bad about giving up on the takes just because of their descent into leftwing millennial manchild thumbsuckery. As it is, it’s an easy delete from my feed. In the chaos bag of life, these guys are the autofail.
