Excited to follow the Starting From Scratch series!

We’re looking for property right now. Any tips on land choice, what to look for and what to avoid would be awesome.
Also...we’re in our 50’s and so any advice or conversation about newbies that are no spring chickens would be great. Do older folks even do this kind of thing?
This homestead and self sustaining life is our retirement plan and though hubby is all about a quiet country life he’s a little less gung-ho right now about all the work he sees ahead of us,...but I think he’ll come around. :-)

Best podcast around!

I grew up on a dairy farm with animals all around my whole childhood. I always thought I wanted to move into the city and get away from all that... but listening to Jill talk about homesteading draws me back to my childhood! She inspires, teaches practical lessons, and makes me want to raise my family with homesteading lifestyle too.
