You have the ability to grow this capacity, and your worth is not tied to your capacity.  In this On the Trail episode, we discuss Chapter Two: How Much Weight Can You Handle? This chapter unpacks an overview of A & B Trauma, Life Model's Stages of Maturity as they relate to handling emotional capacity, and more.  Join us for part two of the Building Bounce book study! The Secret to Emotional Resilience (Building Bounce: Ch 1) | S4E33

Life is hard. We all get overwhelmed at times. But some people seem to bounce back from their upset emotions faster than most. Are they just born happy? Or is there a secret to building emotional resilience that anyone can learn? It's time for our next book study! While many topics we cover on this podcast are about repair, this topic could be thought of as construction.  Building Bounce explains the theory behind growing emotional resilience and provides practical tools you can use in a variety of settings, such as growing your own emotional capacity, parenting your children in ways that build joy, and helping others who live low-joy lives learn the skills that grow joy. In this On the Trail episode, we discuss Chapter One: The Secret to Emotional Resilience. This chapter unpacks an overview of three practices that help us grow our resilience: Appreciation, Beliefs, and Connections.  The good news is that wherever you are starting this journey, growth is possible. People used to believe we were victims of the wiring in our brains. We now know that our brains can be rewired. We want to help you learn how to train your brain by building habits that increase your ability to bounce back from the hard things in life.  Thank you for joining us – father-daughter duo Marcus Warner and Stephanie Warner – on the trail to a deeper walk with God!  🎁 FREE DISCUSSION GUIDE: https://deeperwalk.com/building-bounce/ Access through the button that says "Free Discussion Guide" in the top description block for the book. The Exchanged Life (An Easter Series, Part 3) | S4E32

Jesus Christ takes our sin and gives us His righteousness. This great exchange is the foundation of the Christian life.  He erases our debt, and fills our spiritual bank account. We die to a life that ends in death, and we are raised to a life that endures for eternity.  In this episode, we talk about the exchanged life, what it is, how to walk it out, and how to enter into it if you are ready to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and King.  Thank you for joining us – father-daughter duo Marcus Warner and Stephanie Warner – on the trail to a deeper walk with God!   ⭐️ DID YOU PRAY WITH US? The Tough Love of Jesus (An Easter Series, Part 2) | S4E31

Over and over throughout Holy Week, we see Jesus doing the hard thing because He loves us.  Jesus Christ was never bolder or more clear about His true identity than in the final days before His death on the cross. He loves us enough to get in our face and call us out when we are on a path that is heading to destruction. The words and actions of Jesus may seem harsh, but in reality they were loving.  Jesus was the king of tough love. But tough love isn’t for the tender-hearted who desperately want to please the Father. Tough love is for the hard-hearted who need to be broken before it’s too late.  Thank you for joining us – father-daughter duo Marcus Warner and Stephanie Warner – on the trail to a deeper walk with God!  🎁 HOLY WEEK BLOG: https://deeperwalk.com/a-holy-week-devotional/ 🏘️ HEALTHY COMMUNITY CONFERENCE: https://deeperwalk.com/product/healthy-community-conference-2026/ 🎓 SCHOOL OF MINISTRY: https://deeperwalk.com/school  🙏 PRAYER MINISTRY REFERRALS: https://deeperwalk.com/ministry-referrals/  💝 PAY IT FORWARD: https://deeperwalk.com/donate/  📸 Follow Deeper Walk AND On the Trail (NEW) on Instagram!  https://www.instagram.com/deeperwalkinternational/ https://www.instagram.com/onthetrail_podcast  🕊️ THE SPIRIT & SCRIPTURE COURSE: https://deeperwalk.com/spiritcourse Stay On the Trail toward a Deeper Walk with God with father-daughter duo Marcus Warner & Stephanie Warner. Behold, the King (An Easter Series, Part 1) | S4E30

Palm Sunday wasn't just marketing for Jesus. It was an offer to accept Jesus Christ as King.  Our Messiah—our King—is one to whom we swear allegiance because we trust Him. To be saved by faith is not just accepting the gift of eternal life. It is trusting Jesus Christ enough to follow Him and obey even when we don’t understand where He is taking us and why the journey is so hard.  This doesn’t mean we have no doubts or that we need to have perfect faith before we can be saved. It means that, despite our doubts, we affirm the ancient declaration: “Jesus Christ is Lord.” For the next three episodes, we'll be lingering in the Easter season with thoughts on Jesus the King, the nature of "tough love" and how Jesus wielded it during Holy Week, and the incredible exchange that He offers through His death and resurrection. If you want to sit with some of these thoughts, you can find three related blog posts at Deeper Walk's website (linked).  Join us as we explore the significance of the Easter season, delving into Jesus' kingship, the rejection He faced, and what allegiance to King Jesus means for us today.  Thank you for joining us – father-daughter duo Marcus Warner and Stephanie Warner – on the trail to a deeper walk with God!  🎁 PALM SUNDAY BLOG: https://deeperwalk.com/a-palm-sunday-devotional/ 🏘️ HEALTHY COMMUNITY CONFERENCE: https://deeperwalk.com/product/healthy-community-conference-2026/ 🙏 PRAYER MINISTRY REFERRALS: https://deeperwalk.com/ministry-referrals/ 💝 PAY IT FORWARD: https://deeperwalk.com/donate/ 📸 Follow Deeper Walk AND On the Trail (NEW) on Instagram!  https://www.instagram.com/deeperwalkinternational/ https://www.instagram.com/onthetrail_podcast  🕊️ THE SPIRIT & SCRIPTURE COURSE: https://deeperwalk.com/spiritcourse 🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY RARE LEADERSHIP!: https://deeperwalk.com/product/rare-leadership-book/ Stay On the Trail toward a Deeper Walk with God with father-daughter duo Marcus Warner & Stephanie Warner. The Word Picture Approach to Prayer (Jumpstart Your Prayer Life, Part 6) | S4E29

We don't interact with people as they are. We interact with people as we imagine them to be.  How does the devil want you to see your situation? How does God want you to see your situation?  To close our Jumpstart Your Prayer Life series, we're looking at The Word Picture Approach as a means of exposing the devil's lies and attuning to God's perspective. This approach was inspired by friend and former Deeper Walk board member Daryl Anderson, and we have found it so helpful throughout our years of ministry. The Word Picture Approach is a useful tool for personal reflection when seeking God and when praying with others.  Our goal with this series is to encourage you to deepen your prayer life and explore various approaches to your relationship with God. Throughout this series, we have walked through three approaches to your prayer time that we hope you find useful and refreshing. The Two Notebook Approach to Prayer (Jumpstart Your Prayer Life, Part 5) | S4E28

Do you ever stop to pray and instead find yourself fighting off distracting or discouraging thoughts?  Have you ever wondered how people pray for hours not just minutes?   Next in our Jumpstart Your Prayer Life series, we're looking at The Two Notebook Approach as a means of being intentional and focused in conversational prayer with God. This approach was inspired by Marcus's contemplations on John C. Maxwell's Partners in Prayer and Neil T. Anderson's Liberating Prayer, and, yes, he's got an acrostic for you!  Our goal with this series is to encourage you to deepen your prayer life and explore various approaches to your relationship with God.
