Ep 66 Pop Culture Archives: The Horrors Never Cease

Send a text Happy Wednesday Weed Whackers and welcome back! We've got a fun and perhaps educational episode for you today. First up, we're yapping about meeting our fans in the wild, concert going, and Irish goodbyes. Next, you know we have to talk a little bit about the files. Feel free to skip ahead if you've reached your file consumption limit. It's hard to even know what to say or what to focus on but one thing we are definitely interested in following is the female response to all of this. So far we've seen Melinda Gates speaking out publicly regarding her former husband and we're staying tuned to see how many, if any, will follow suit. Moving on, we're sharing our thoughts on Alex Honnold's live broadcast free climb and we get into a little mix up about base jumping and free basing. (we don't recommend either.) Next up, we're wondering why 90s kids movies were hell bent on inflicting emotional turmoil and then we're diving into a quick reality check segment to discuss the latest Bravo happenings. We're dishing on Bronwyn and Todd's split, the Southern Charm core 4 birthday dinner, and Kyle and Mauricio's tour of their former home. Then it's time to get in the weeds with a pop culture archives review of Fast Time's at Ridgemont High. We've got some fun facts about the movie (which you may already know but we just learned for the first time) and then we're breaking down the characters and scenes to discuss how the film represented the teen culture of that time. As always we wrap it up with grapes to practical gadgets and elementary school nostalgia and gripes about domestic labor and parking woes. See you in the weeds! Ep 65: If There Was Ever A Time for Some Therapy

Send us a text Happy Hump Day Weed Whackers and welcome back to another episode of She's in the Weeds! FWIW: Somehow our input source defaulted to our computer mics so it's not our best audio. It may not be noticeable to all listeners but we take quality seriously so we apologize if it's less than ideal.  Today we're yapping about snowpocalypse, the state of the country, therapy, and the ultimate form of self care. Next Sam's taking umbrage with HBO and their GOT collaborations. If you have seen A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms you likely know what we are talking about. Have they gone too far or are we just getting old? Let us know your thoughts! Next up we've got a quick circle back to the posh family feud. It's taken a dark turn and we're wondering if all that money and fame is worth so much family turmoil. Then we're sharing some thoughts on the upcoming Oscars and diving into a she's in the comments segment. Next up is a long overdue reality check to discuss the latest Bravo happenings. We're catching up on the RHSLC reunion, Southern Charm, and Beverly Hills. Then it's time to get in the weeds and this week we're talking about the new Netflix true crime documentary, Kidnapped: Elizabeth Smart. We're recapping the events of the kidnapping and her 9 month long captivity as well as her remarkable healing and advocacy journey since her escape. As always we're wrapping it up with gripes about cold weather sensitivities and people's cluelessness and grapes to childhood nostalgia and superior snacking. See you in the weeds! Ep 64: Peanut Butter, Cheese, Cured Meats, In That Order

Send us a text Happy Hump Day Weed Whackers and welcome back to another riveting episode of She's in the Weeds! Today we're yapping about the Tooth Fairy, immune systems, and the state of Arkansas. Next, Sam's got a circle back to last week's weeds topic (surprise surprise) and Hollis shares some thoughts on the Posh family feud. Then Sam's sharing an update on the ongoing Black Lively and Justin Baldoni legal saga including what Jenny Slate had to say about Justin and whether or not we think it will move forward to trial. Then it's time to get in the weeds and it's the last episode of January so it's the first of our new regular Pop Culture Queen of the Month series! We have talked about doing this regularly on record a handful of times and we're finally sticking to it so we'll be featuring a new PCQ for the last episode of each month going forward. This week it's author, advocate, fashion icon, and former First Lady Michelle Obama! We'll be discussing her new book The Look, her iconic style and fashion over the years as well as her many accomplishments in both her personal life and as First Lady. The book is not only a beautifully curated walk through her fashion and style throughout the Obama administration but more importantly a raw and honest commentary on how fashion and the way we present ourselves inform our confidence, our identities, and the way in which we move through the world as women. As always we wrap it up with gripes about to go cups and snacking and grapes to winter weather and the products needed to survive it.
