Our connection to the outdoors runs deep in our DNA, but our relationship to the natural world can be complicated. From the unintended human costs of clean energy, to the murky ethics of high-risk rescue missions, to our seemingly eternal conflict with invasive species, we dive head first into those complexities with stories, in-depth reporting, and a touch of nerdiness. You don’t have to be a conservation biologist, a whitewater kayaker, or an obsessive composter to love Outside/In. It’s a show for anyone who has ever been outdoors. In short, it’s a show for *almost* everyone.

Hosted by Sam Evans-Brown, Outside/In is a production of New Hampshire Public Radio.

I wish there were more podcasts like Outside In !

As a girl from SoCal that has never been to NH, I still find this podcast so relatable. The storytelling is captivating and the hosts and guests have great energy. They’ve also introduced me to some other great podcasts like HumaNature, and Bear Brooks. Both highly recommended! The “Ask Sam” segment has an awesome jingle and answers all the bizarre questions you never knew you wanted the answers to. Thanks Outside In for keeping me entertained on commutes and road trips!

I love the investigative turn

I hope the tact and tone and pacing of this most recent episode becomes something you continue. I have enjoyed you for a while and have been often pleasantly surprised by your high degree of thoughtful broad-topic explorations.... But i think youre now onto something even bettter. Reminiscent of some of the better ReplyAll / tldr / Mysteryshow pods. Keep up the creative and incisive ideas
