Oversharing from Betches Media is all about the challenges we face in all kinds of relationships; from friendships to family, long term partnerships or even dealing with the customer service rep that makes you want to scream into a pillow. Betches co-founder and relationship enthusiast Jordana Abraham has teamed up with her big sister, licensed clinical therapist Dr. Naomi Bernstein, to answer your questions and try to get to the bottom of the things that bother us most. Think of Jordana and Dr. Naomi as your BFF and your therapist, sitting side-by-side at the brunch table trying to help you get through your problems. Each week they’re responding to listener emails, tackling difficult ethical questions, playing games, and so much more. Because sometimes we really need advice from people with no skin in the game. And let’s face it, your friends can’t stand to hear that story one more time.

Like a calming talk with friends

Dropping a review here just to say that this is one of my favorite podcasts for the content, but also specifically for Dr. Naomi’s voice. I don’t know what it is, but I look forward to this podcast every week because it puts me in a “can do” mood without overstimulating me, her voice is very calming and soothing. Other podcast hosts have an insistent or demanding tone to their voices, which makes sense for their content, but it’s hard to listen to all the time especially as someone who devours podcasts 24/7 like me.

I’m used to love this podcast and the perspectives of Jordana and Dr. Naomi but after the last episode where they were so wildly misinformed about the dangers of the antivax movement and essentially talked down to a member of the medical community about this situation was incredibly distasteful and off putting. I was a subscriber but will have to take a break from the pod for a while.
Love this pod!

I felt badly for the girl that’s pregnant and distressed about how her stepdaughter’s mom is always texting and stopping by to ask for things. She’s obviously very anxious and this situation is making her feel out of control and disrupting her feeling of peace and needing a routine without surprises. I felt like they could’ve been more understanding of that and not just sympathized with the stepdaughter/“bio-mom.” I also understand that she wishes there could be more boundaries. At the same time though she married a man with an ex wife and a kid so she has to find a way to be more flexible.
