Public Defenseless

I’m a California law student interested in working in the criminal justice system, unsure on which side but learning about and listening to various public defender issues is really eye opening. Hunter does a great job with all of his interviews.

Listening to this podcast is like being trapped in an elevator with a first-year law student who just discovered legal jargon and now believes they've single-handedly uncovered every flaw in the justice system. An employer has the right to not hire you if you are bashing them in public. Grow up. Focus on studying and graduating law school before trying to make it as a podcaster. What truly elevates the experience, however, is the voice. Imagine a smoke alarm that's disappointed in you, combined with the tone of someone complaining to customer service because their latte had too much foam. Every episode is a masterclass in whining. Even when making a valid point—which happens occasionally—it arrives wrapped in such relentless self-righteousness that you find yourself disagreeing on principle. One star. Not because it lacks confidence, but because confidence is apparently the only thing it has in abundance

As a choir member“ I often very much enjoy the topics of discussion and it is almost always delivered with good preaching and that’s just what you need in times like these when you know that the choir are the only people who you’re going to convince to sing.
