Lessons That Last Forever: A Conversation with Coach Keith Crump

In Episode 22 of the Rec Closed Podcast, we sit down with someone whose impact goes far beyond the court — Coach Keith Crump, proud native of Burlington City, New Jersey, a husband, father, mentor, and one of the most influential voices in my life. We take it back to our days at Burlington County Community College (BCC), where Coach Crump served as my assistant coach and became one of the key people who helped shape my mindset, my toughness, and my direction as a young man. This episode digs into the battles we faced, the culture we lived, and the unforgettable “Crackback” moments that still live on today. But this conversation goes deeper than basketball. We talk about the moment Coach Crump literally saved my life, stepping in at a time when my path could’ve gone in the wrong direction. The lessons he poured into me back then are the same lessons I still carry with me every single day. We also honor the late, legendary Coach Lenny Carmichael, celebrating his legacy, his discipline, and the impact he left on everyone who came through that program. Raw stories. Real mentorship. Life-saving moments. Memories that shaped the man I am today. This episode is personal. This episode is legacy. This episode is a thank-you to a man who changed everything.
