    Although the first degree program in music therapy in America was developed by Michigan State University in 1944, music was already being used for healing purposes in the late 1700s, more than 200 years ago.     When we communicate, words aren't the most important part of our message; they are actually the least influential part of what we say. Humans give and receive unconscious statements that express much more than the words spoken, such as facial expressions, gestures, tone of voice, touch, or eye contact, to name a few. Today, we explore the role of body language in communication, and we learn to use the ability to read unconscious expressions of emotions to convert more clients. We go through the Phineas Gage case, the accident that changed his life, and how it helped scientists understand more about brain functions and human behavior.     During our childhood, when our minds are not fully developed, we can't distinguish between right and wrong, so we accept everything people say to us as truth. For instance, negative remarks will solidify as core beliefs in a child's mind, and they will get in the way of that child's normal development, goal achieving, and personal growth. In this episode, the last of 2021, we talk about our beliefs. We explore and understand how limiting beliefs grow in our minds; we learn to identify them, look for their root cause, and eliminate them. We delve into the power limiting beliefs can have in our lives and the effects of having limiting beliefs transformed into core beliefs. We also go through a step by step of identifying limiting beliefs, the questions that will help us do it, and what we need to do to change or eliminate them.
