Projections We Put on Others and Ourselves

Have you ever caught yourself saying, “I’m just so busy,” or labeling someone else as “so disciplined,” “so organized,” or “such a hard worker”? In this episode, I’m unpacking the subtle (and sneaky) way we project identities onto other people—and onto ourselves—and how those words quietly shape our relationships and our reality. This conversation was sparked when someone told me (multiple times!) how busy I must be. And while that may have been true in past seasons, it made me pause and ask: Is that actually how I want to be known? Is that the identity I want to reinforce? Today, we’re talking about: How the phrases we use about others often reflect our own insecurities or desiresThe way labels create comparison and distance in our relationshipsWhy repeating identity statements (“I’m just bad at this” or “We’re just a boring married couple”) can lock us into cycles we don’t even wantAnd how to swap rigid identity statements for season-based language that gives us room to growI’ll also give you two simple, practical action steps: How to catch projections in real time and replace labels with curiosity-building questions. How to reframe self-labels into season statements so you stop boxing yourself into identities that don’t align with who you want to be.If you’ve ever felt boxed in by a label—or realized you might be boxing someone else in—this episode will help you shift from projection to curiosity, from comparison to connection, and from fixed identity to intentional growth. As always, if this resonates, share it with someone who might need the reminder. 🤍 Follow on Instagram LINK Apple Podcasts LINK Youtube LINK Spotify LINK Don't forget to check out Shared Shelves Book Club pod!

Morning Routine: Small Changes, Big Impact

The goal of this episode is to show you the POWER of establishing a morning routine, even if it's just 10-15 minutes!  Go back to the episode from 12/29/25 to get your reference for the 7 Areas of Life Balance I mentioned here, but here are a few things you could implement that would be QUICK and APPROACHABLE for each area. Pick the one that you want to work on MOST and set your alarm tomorrow for just 15 minutes earlier. TELL the people around you you're making this change and TRACK it for 30 days. You will be unstoppable! Mind/Mental Health: Try out a 10-15 minute practice of gratitude journaling, affirmations (I've been liking the I Am app), reading a book Body/Physical: 10-15 minutes of stretching or an ab routine, quick walk, skincare Soul/Spirit: Daily devotional, 10 minute written prayer, 10 minute meditation Family: send a few messages to family members you aren't feeling connected to, review your calendar for your next opportuniy to see one Community: send a supportive message to a friend, write a letter each day to mail to someone Spouse/Partner: write down one thing you love about them each day (watch your love for them grow!!), pick out a question each day to ask them while you're getting ready in the morning Career/Business: take 15 minutes to make a 3 step to-do list for the day, do follow-ups for your business, clean out inbox Let me know which area you are going to start with and how this is going for you! I'm happy to hold you accountable! I'm rooting for you! Follow on Instagram LINK Apple Podcasts LINK Youtube LINK Spotify LINK Don't forget to check out Shared Shelves Book Club pod!

Pillars of Progress: How Consumption, Environment and Emotion Affect Progress

In today’s episode, I’m sharing a conversation that truly made me pause and reflect — the three core pillars that determine whether we’re actually making progress… or unknowingly holding ourselves back. What started as a lesson inside a nutrition accountability group (shoutout to a concept I learned from a registered dietitian I’ve followed for years) quickly became something so much bigger. While the framework was originally shared in the context of weight loss, I couldn’t stop thinking about how powerfully it applies to every area of our lives — our relationships, careers, confidence, mindset, and overall personal growth. In this episode, I break down: Consumption — What are you taking in daily (food, media, conversations, thoughts)? Is it fueling the version of you that you want to become… or quietly pulling you away from her?Environment — Are your surroundings and the people in your life energizing you or draining you? What subtle cues in your space are shaping your habits?Emotion — What feelings are actually driving your reactions, procrastination, or self-sabotage? And what happens when you finally name them? This is a very real, coffee-shop-style chat about awareness — because we can’t improve what we’re not aware of. If you’ve been feeling stuck in your health, your marriage, your friendships, your career, or even just in your own mindset, this episode will help you audit what’s really going on beneath the surface. My hope is that you walk away with tangible questions to ask yourself and a clearer understanding of what might be influencing your progress. If this resonates, share it with a friend who needs a little mindset shift today — and as always, thank you for being here. 💛 Follow on Instagram LINK Apple Podcasts LINK Youtube LINK Spotify LINK Don't forget to check out Shared Shelves Book Club pod!
