The Corrie Comedown
We can’t believe it’s already over! We’re back stateside, and we still have so much to discuss. Kristin Minzer killed it for me; I have been listening from the beginning but I am unsubscribing.
You two ladies are awesome journalists. For example, you did a great job covering Boston.
But if all you’re going to do from this point forward is hate on the royal family, then I am checking out.
This podcast is not about politics and it should not be laden with negativity. We can get that anywhere! You started out as an intelligent take on a light-hearted topic. Very enjoyable. But you lost your way. In one episode, you talked about how the royal family possibly caused Megan’s miscarriage… And then you almost effortlessly transitioned into talking about the Christmas concert?!?! You could hear the awkwardness in your voices as you made the transition. And now you have this “journalist” on who only wants to watch the royal family in the hopes that it does what she says are the “hundreds of thousands of things” that the family needs to do to apologize for historical wrongs. All of that may be valid. But it’s not fun. Its not “Royally Obsessed”. That’s not being a fan, it’s being a hater. It is not what I am here for. It’s not what is going to sell Joanna Vargas face masks.
You could cover the fashion. You could cover the up-and-coming generation of royals. For that matter, you could cover the charities that they support. There is so much of interest there. And actually you’re missing an opportunity. If you stay with the Royals as George and Charlotte grow up, there will be so much to cover and you will be at the forefront. Don’t squander that opportunity on Harry and Meghan. Yuck. Harry and Megan are not royals anymore. The topic is tiresome. For the last year or so, I have continue listening to the pod in spite of the Harry and Meghan stuff, certainly not because of it.
I will check back in at the end of the summer and see if your podcast has chosen to go back to being about being “royally obsessed”… if it has, I will come back.
