    S11E1 - How Could We? Make the most of the COP30 climate negotiations in Brazil

    Welcome to a new season of How Could We?, recorded live at the SB62 June Climate meeting in Bonn, a key conference in the lead up to the upcoming United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP30 in Brazil. This week, host Anne-Sophie Garrigou interviews a scientist (Bart van den Hurk, IPCC Working Group II Co-Chair), a negotiator (Genaro Matías Godoy González, Chile's Acting Lead Negotiator on Finance) and a civil society representative (Aline Baroni, Country Director at ProVeg Brasil). They talk about what they think the main challenges facing the COP30 presidency are this year and what they can share about what is happening behind the scenes. François' work focuses mostly on the human impacts of climate change, including migration and displacement, as well as issues such as security conflicts, inequalities and development. Focused on adapting existing roofs and buildings to a changing climate, Roofscapes uses timber platforms to make previously untapped roofs shadier and greener, thereby reducing thermal discomfort, increasing biodiversity anchors, and offering new outdoor spaces in cities. Eytan talks about how an inspiration for founding Roofscapes was his Paris upbringing, how timber platforms can dramatically reduce temperatures - even during heatwaves - the importance of involving people who live in the buildings Roofscapes works on, and invites listeners to visit Roofscapes’ pilot project at L’Académie du Climat in Paris.     S8E3 - How Could We? Redefine leadership for a renewable future

    It’s the final episode of our leadership-focused series, recorded live at the Paris REALITY Tour. The event was organised by The Climate Reality Project and aims to build public momentum and political will for ambitious climate commitments leading up to COP 30 in Brazil. This week, Anne-Sophie Garrigou is interviewing Rana Adib, Executive Director of REN21. A policy network and a multistakeholder governance group, REN21 promotes renewable energy as a solution to accelerate climate action.  In this episode, Rana talks about the importance of integrating sustainability across economic sectors and policymaking, how combining technical ‘hard’ skills and transversal ‘soft’ skills are equally important in the shift away from fossil fuels, as well as the need to balance storytelling with facts and figures when communicating about climate change.
