Welcome to Saddleback! Here you will find the audio version of the messages from the weekend services at Saddleback, taught by Pastor Rick Warren and other Saddleback teaching pastors. We hope you enjoy the service and are encouraged by the message from God’s Word.
Crossing Cultural Chasms
In today’s culture, we still face a division of cultures, colors, and countries. As a church, how do we deal with this division? How do we avoid succumbing to separation? This week, Pastor William Dwight McKissic looks at Romans 16, and how it shows us a beautiful portrait of unity and diversity within the early church as an example to follow.
How to Get Through Your Storm
Have you ever been in a storm of life and wondered, “Lord, where are you? What did I do to deserve this? Why am I in this storm?” Even though it may be hard to see at first, God is there with you and there is a purpose to the storm. This week, Pastor Buddy Owens shares how God uses storms to test our faith and teach us lessons about who he is and who we are.
Correcting Misplaced Priorities
Do you feel like you’ve taken on too much, but don’t know what to do? One of the most common causes of discouragement is misplaced priorities. We get tired because our ultimate goals get crowded by urgent needs. This week, Pastor Rick shares how to clarify what matters most in life and reorder our priorities accordingly so that we can truly make a difference in the world today.
Announcing Saddleback’s New Senior Pastor
After a one-year search, Pastor Rick announced that he has found the next Senior Pastor of Saddleback — Pastor Andy Wood! This week, for a special service, Pastor Rick shares the journey of finding his successor and introduces Andy and Stacie Wood, who share how they gave their “Yes” to Jesus. Kay Warren also takes a moment to answer some general questions that may arise and what is next for her and Pastor Rick at Saddleback!
How to Help a Friend in Deep Pain
In the past 14 days, our nation has been reeling with shock, anger, and grief. Many tears have been shed as we face one devastating tragedy after another. In addition to processing our own pain, we are surrounded by others in need of comfort. How are we supposed to help them? What do we do? This week, Pastor Rick shares the priceless value of tears and how we can help anyone experiencing deep pain or grief.
Three Questions for a Reset
There are many different types of resets. When we get off course and need to get back to what’s most important in our lives, we need a regular reset. When we feel like everything has fallen apart, nothing’s working, and nothing’s happening, we need a radical reset. This weekend, Pastor Tom Holladay looks at three questions we have to ask in order for both a regular and a radical reset to happen in our life.
I have listened for well over two years, Pastor Rick’s sermon “tones” has allowed my “trust” that God does & will ( though most of the time it’s in his timing not mine ) answer prayers to grow & mature. These sermons have given me a better understanding of what trust is — and using the book of James throughout the Pandemic ( for what 39 sermons ) was most enlightening as to how to live our/my life . . . even with the issues which we have been & continue to be faced with. “Trust” is a difficult concept to put your arms around let alone totally embrace when evolving God — something you “feel” and can’t touch physically. Pastor Rick takes God’s Word and makes applicable each week to life. MDH
I’ve yet to find a church like Saddleback!! We were members when we lived in Cali and are still looking for a home church in our new state, but during the pandemic.... we returned to listening to Pastor Rick and his words are the teachings we needed to hear. It’s like he’s speaking to us directly. Thank you Pastor for serving our Lord God so faithfully.
Miss you Rick
When I moved to the OC. I was trying to find a great church. Some at work told me about saddleback. I got dressed up in my Sunday best. When I arrived. I scratched my head. Because I saw a very big tent in front of me. So I walked up to that tent. And they welcomed me. Like I was family. Oh by the way it was raining that day, So I went inside. And sat in a folding chair. The music started. I couldn’t help but stand up with everyone and sing my heart out. I must apologize to the people around me on that day. Then Rick comes up and Greats us all. I’m thinking to myself. What in the world. That guy is in a Hawaiian shirt 😀. The started tell us about Jesus in such a different way. That I understood every word he said. He touched me so much . That I was in tears. You must know I will cry about everything. These tears where for the peace I felt in my heart. Because Jesus brought me to saddleback. And I was so great full. So a year or so. They had their church. What a church it is. So beautiful. And then we moved out of state. I was lost without Saddleback. Back then we didn’t have on line church. Then years later . I did divorce my husband. I moved back to my home town. You won’t believe this. But Jesus sent me to cottonwood. They where in a tent too. So I thought, this is a sign. I’ve been going there ever since. I love baileys and his family. I have become both my parents caregiver for a few years now. So I must stay home. To care for them. So all my activities had stopped. I miss church so much. Then covid happened. Now I try my best to watch in line. But it’s not the same, my last word is. I’m so truly blessed . The Lord has sent to two of the most wonderful churches I’ve ever been too. By the way I now dress down for church 💒🙏😄
