Luca J. Davis is a writer, web designer and long distance hiker. You will notice their review is in two parts, because it was  originally sent to me as a video text, which you can see on our instagram page, but  after hearing just the names of BEAUTIFUL tahini drink & breakfast items from Houlden’s Rise Above, I demanded more details. Which Luca sent. Via memo.
Morgan is a baker and seed lover, and Torrence is a cat lover who was once my  very excellent roommate.
Alec Longstreth is an award winning cartoonist. He also works as a freelance illustrator, animator, digital colorist, and comics educator.
He works at the Center for Cartoon Studies, just did all the images and some animations for Weezer’s summer tour, and is the author of Basewood
And the all ages comic Isle of Elsi. He runs Phase 8 publishing, and you can get my NEW BOOK by going to his website.
Phasesevencomics.com. You’ll see the phase 8 logo in the top right, click on it, and be taken to a print AND digital download link that directly benefits me!

The real deal

This podcast is the gold standard of queer, feminist, vegan, animal-loving podcasts. Nicole is clearly in an inner circle of “famous” creatives but not so famous herself that she’s lost her grit and humor. Favorite eps include any vegan food tastings with Morgan, the glasses fiasco, interviews with j.d. Samson, Eileen Myles, and Michelle tea, and of course, babyland. Ponyo and Chris are clearly excellent at their jobs.

Great podcast! Listen to the early episodes as well!

I look forward to this podcast!
Sagittarian Matters has been going since 2016. I discovered it in 2020 and ended up listening to the entire series during the pandemic. Hearing about Nicole, her Portland and LA friends helped me through ! Funny, friendly and real (as well as ad free) . You don’t have to be gay or vegan to enjoy it. (Although you may emerge with increased respect for graphic novels and the Herculean amount of work that goes into creating them.)
Also listen to the related limited podcast Relative Fiction.

Love.

I am no longer vegan but I love listening to queer, Covid conscious vegans review food. I also think the Sagittarian matters/Lanyadoo duo is the most epic constellation of awesomeness so far in 2023
