Scared Confident is a series of conversations and personal reflections that takes an honest look at the vulnerable realities of a woman with many roles. As an entrepreneur, wife, leader, and mother of four, I want to address the fears and internal battles that often seek to debilitate us and courageously work to overcome them. This is a real, unpolished space to challenge ourselves and learn what it means to live our lives scared confident.
Values Q&A: Are there any value-minded leaders that you respect and admire?
For our final episode on values, Tiffany answers, “Are there any value minded-leaders that you respect and admire?”
“He said, ‘my values don't agree with what the research is saying and I'm going with my gut. We're going with our culture. We're going with our values, with what we know. We believe we'll be successful because that's who we are despite the risk that was clearly articulated as related to market acceptance.’ And I just thought that was incredible.” - Tiffany

I am listening with San Pathak
“There's a lot of fear wrapped around race. On my side, as a white person, the fear for me is about just saying wrong things, not understanding that there are things I might say, unintentionally, that hurt and offend and cause harm. And so it's easier to just stay silent, stay in the background and not, I would say, pursue growth around that.” - Tiffany
Joining Tiffany is San Pathak, Chief Operations Officer of Element Three, as they take on the topic of fear and race. We ask you to come into the conversation open. This episode is about building human bridges, not political ones.
After listening, ask yourself, are you activating around your fear? Are you stepping into the discomfort? Instead of trying to convince other people of what you do or don't believe, are you stepping into the messiness of a relationship? From Tiffany’s perspective, as you’ll hear, that's where change actually takes place.
Values Q&A: How do your values guide your personal life?
The second question on the topic of values is, how do your values guide your personal life?
“I think about it guiding two things: your decision-making and your time and what gets your energy and attention?"
As you listen to Tiffany share how she breaks down her personal values based on the questions she asked herself for the past twenty years, what comes to mind for you? Get into the community with other listeners by texting Tiffany at (317) 350-8921.
Values Q&A: How did you define the values for your life?
For the next four Q&A episodes, Tiffany digs into the questions she’s received on values. Starting first with how she defines them for her life. As you listen to her answer, think about your own.
“What I have found in my life...as it relates to values is that it's really about interrogating: ‘Where are the moments that you feel like you showed up in the way that you're really proud of and where the reflecting on those moments, where you showed up in a way that you're really disappointed in yourself? And to me that is how I've picked up and gathered my values in life.”

Live Q&A with Lindsay McGuire on her fears as a first-time mom
It all started with an email from Lindsay McGuire, Content Marketing Manager at Formstack, ShowRunner for Ripple Effect, and VP of Grants for the Junior League. Tiffany sits down with Lindsay to talk through questions she sent in a Live Q&A-style episode.
“This is a process of becoming selfless of understanding that for a period of time, my own physical needs are not the most primary one that I have to meet for a period of time.” - TIffany
The conversation they have explores a myriad of questions, how much space do you let your kids take up in your own life? How do you find the right balance? What does it mean to be more than just a mom? Who is going to help take care of my new baby when I go back to work?

One episode in and I already find myself asking,”what is fear telling me?” Can’t wait to hear what else Tiffany shares.
It’s the most authentic interview of a high-performer I’ve heard on a Podcast. Raw insight that’s super enlightening. I can relate to many of self-discoveries.
Raw and real and brave
The courage it takes to share this personal journey is huge. Thank you for being vulnerable and for bringing this method of facing your fear to light. Personally, fear is always in my head about being an adequate parent and raising awesome humans. This exercise could be interesting for me around that.
