What could be

I found this podcast by accident. I was talking to a friend about Margot Taulé and was showing him her “Blue House” in Santo Domingo. I got excited at the fact that she was featured in an international Podcast but as it is usual these days with information about DR coming from the US and its diaspora it all begins and ends with Haiti and our relationship (even when talking about architecture. The surprise that Margot was descendants from french immigrants because Haiti was colonized by France and what is DR now by spain was a captious question or just plain dumb as if the only people allowed to settle in the DR were spanish lol not to mention that the entire island was french from 1780ish till 1810 (1801 in haiti). Then there was the comment about the Architecture day in DR, even though Both Margot and the lady beltre achieved this preeminence not only in the 40s but during the Trujillo dictatorship and I wonder how many female architects existed in the world and the US somehow thats not enough. Guillermo Gonzalez is the father of Dominican modern architecture because of the groundbreaking of his language and the iconic status of his work, thats why he was picked, Margot is great in many ways equally noted of recognition (most of her buildings have been restored and declared national monuments). I just wished for once to hear things about DR without the social justice warrior gaze.
