Side One/Side B

Side One/Side B with Dave & Steve

A punk and a metalhead started a podcast because they want to show each other records and they both have ADHD and need to make the other listen to and now they're going to make you listen to them. Side One/Side B with Dave & Steve is a podcast put together with two bandmates with ADHD who have a similar Venn diagram of music tastes, but Dave comes at it from the punk perspective and Steve from the heavy metal perspective. It’s kind of like crossfire, except we don’t hate each other, or make Jon Stewart sad.

Following in the same style as the band's previous album Thick as a Brick (1972), A Passion Play is a concept album comprising individual songs arranged into a single continuous piece of music (which was split into two parts across the original vinyl release's two sides). The album's concept follows the spiritual journey of a recently deceased man in the afterlife, exploring themes of morality, religion and good and evil. The album's accompanying tour was considered the high water mark of Jethro Tull's elaborate stage productions, involving a full performance of the album accompanied by physical props, sketches and projected video.[3] A Passion Play was negatively received by critics upon its initial release. However the album was a commercial success, becoming Jethro Tull's second number one album in the United States. The album has since received a more positive critical reassessment, and has become a cult favorite among some fans of the band. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Passion_Play?scrlybrkr=9d36c6e7 Support the show Check out our post-punk band The Alliterates new song The House Came Crashing Down on the Vol 1: Let's Begin compilation from Shift-Ctrl-Music Check out our cover of Child's Christmas in Wales (OG by John Cale) on Chaos For Christmas from Rejected Youth Records Steve's Website Our Instagrams Dave Steve The Alliterates Bluesky Dave Steve Facebook Steve The Alliterates Lucid Fugue Buy our theme song Non-Euclidean Pornography | Lucid Fugue (bandcamp.com)

"Touched by the toil and plunged into his arm, cursed thru the night through eyes of alarm." this week Pete joins us and we take a look at LOVE IT TO DEATH (1971) by the ALICE COOPER band!

Send us Fan Mail Love It to Death is the third studio album by American rock band Alice Cooper, released on March 9, 1971. It was the band's first commercially successful album and the first album that consolidated the band's aggressive hard-rocking sound, instead of the psychedelic and experimental rock style of their first two albums. The album's best-known track, "I'm Eighteen", was released as a single to test the band's commercial viability before the album was recorded. The original album cover featured the singer Cooper posed with his thumb protruding so it appeared to be his penis; Warner Bros. soon replaced it with a censored version. Ezrin and the Coopers continued to work together for a string of hit albums until the band's breakup in 1974. The album has come to be seen as a foundational influence on hard rock, punk, and heavy metal; several tracks have become live Alice Cooper standards and are frequently covered by other bands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_It_to_Death Support the show Check out our post-punk band The Alliterates new song The House Came Crashing Down on the Vol 1: Let's Begin compilation from Shift-Ctrl-Music Check out our cover of Child's Christmas in Wales (OG by John Cale) on Chaos For Christmas from Rejected Youth Records Steve's Website Our Instagrams Dave Steve The Alliterates Bluesky Dave Steve Facebook Steve The Alliterates Lucid Fugue Buy our theme song Non-Euclidean Pornography | Lucid Fugue (bandcamp.com)
