My 75-day Reset: The stuff I ate (and didn't eat) to feel better in my body

This past summer, I disappeared for 75 days to reset my body and work on me. No crappy food, no alcohol, no social media.  After sharing my journey publicly, friends, family and a few listeners asked the same questions: What did you actually eat? Did you go to the doctor first? Did you weigh yourself? How did you know your liver and kidneys were struggling? In this conversation, I answer those questions. I walk you through the foods I leaned on, the habits I released and the mindset shifts that made this reset sustainable. I also talk a bit about emotional eating, discipline and how challenging it was to choose healing over convenience. This reset was never about perfection or restriction. It was about listening to my body and the signs I had been ignoring for far too long. Is your body calling for a reset? In this episode, you'll hear: 00:59 — The decision to begin again 01:54 — Preparing for the reset 03:01 — What I actually ate 05:28 — Hydration, eliminations and non-negotiables 07:04 — Emotional eating and awareness 08:30 — Answering your most asked questions Doctors, lab work, the scale, and trusting your body's signals. NOTE: I am one of the millions of Americans without health insurance so that is why I made some of the decisions I share in this segment. 14:53 — The hard parts and staying committed 17:57 — Encouragement for anyone sensing it may be time to pause and reset. Life or Death? My 75-Day Reset.

After sharing a simple update on LinkedIn that unexpectedly resonated with quite a few of my followers, I knew it was time to tell the deeper story behind my 75-day reset. From July 8th to my 55th birthday on September 21st, I stepped away from several things that really had a hold on me. This wasn't about dieting. It was about saving myself.  Before I started the journey, anxiety was rising, depression was creeping in, my body felt weighed down. It felt like I was drowning in my own life. Something inside whispered, "Stop now, or you're going to break." In this episode, I take you into that journey and the quiet but powerful shift that eventually unfolded.  If you've been feeling depleted or disconnected from yourself, this conversation may be the sign you've been waiting for to reset and breathe again. In this episode, you'll hear: 00:10 — Why this reset became urgent The moment I knew something had to change. 00:57 — Choosing a 75-day detox What I cut out and why. 02:14 — When overwhelm hit a breaking point Anxiety, depression, and the wake-up call I couldn't ignore. 03:43 — The hard early days Cravings, withdrawals, and confronting discomfort. 13:33 — The first signs of healing Better sleep, calmer energy, and reduced inflammation. 15:04 — A spiritual quieting Reconnecting with peace and God. 19:40 — A shift in my coaching Leading from the heart, not the head. 21:10 — Lessons I didn't expect What patience and surrender revealed. 24:27 — An invitation to reset Encouragement for anyone feeling depleted.  ============== Do me a solid. From Law to Lipstick: How Deida Massey is Building the Next Big Beauty Brand.

What does it take to walk away from a "good government job," a law degree, and the security everyone expects you to hold onto? Deida Massey knows. People called her crazy but she called it obedience. Raised on Chicago's South Side, Deida started out advocating for abused and neglected children. But something in her spirit said there was more. So she did the unthinkable: she left it all, moved to L.A. with no connections, and started at the bottom of the makeup world. Her leap led her into rooms with icons like DMX, Common and Dr. Maya Angelou… and ultimately to Zanzibar, where one encounter with the "lipstick plant" sparked the birth of Bixa Beauty, her vegan cosmetics brand. This conversation is full of the kind of truth you only get from a woman who risked everything.
