Sisternomics

Monique Caradine Kitchens

For Black women entrepreneurs, professionals and leaders over 45, abundance hits differently. That's why Sisternomics exists. Each week, we unpack what total abundance looks like in real time for real women navigating business, reinvention, leadership, money, purpose and personal evolution — including caregiving, empty nesting, menopause and all the other realities that come with this dynamic season of life. Sisternomics is a personal development and entrepreneurship podcast hosted by veteran journalist, Certified Coach and storyteller Monique Caradine-Kitchens. Through honest solo episodes and thoughtful conversations, Monique explores what it means to create freedom, do work you love, rest, be curious, make great money and build wealth on your own terms without losing yourself in a culture obsessed with hustle. If you're growing a business, navigating a career pivot, reclaiming your voice, rediscovering your purpose or simply asking, "What else is possible for me now?" — Sisternomics is for you. It's great to talk about money and there are plenty of podcasts that do, but here, we know that abundance is bigger than money. It's clarity. Alignment. Confidence. Freedom. It's living from the Overflow. === Sisternomics is produced by OverFlow Enterprises, a media and personal development company created for women over 45 who know there is still more waiting for them and they are ready to receive it all gracefully.

We Are Not Your Gurus: Why the performative coaching era is ending, FINALLY!

The coaching industry got hijacked and that sucks.  Marketing got prioritized over transformation, coaches got "celebritized" and people began to idolize them, put them on pedestals and mimic their lifestyles. There was a push to shove people into cookie cutter frameworks or get them to buy $997 courses and as a result a lot of people lost time and money, got manipulated and never got the transformation they were actually looking for. Thankfully we are starting to see a shift. In this episode of Sisternomics, I unpack why I believe the coaching industry is going through a necessary course correction and why women over 45 are no longer looking for gurus, perfect frameworks, or louder personalities. We are looking for something deeper. We talk about what real coaching should actually feel like, the difference between support and proximity marketing, why AI can't replace human discernment, and the quiet power of being truly seen, heard, and honsetly supported. This conversation is bigger than coaching. It's about trust. Identity. Discernment. Emotional exhaustion. And what women truly need in this season of life. Listen if you're a coach or looking for a coach. Do me a solid. If this episode resonated with you, please share it, rate it, and leave a review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen. Before You Quit, Ask yourself This.

There's a reason nature moves in seasons. Nothing blooms year-round. Nothing produces nonstop. So why do we expect ourselves to constantly produce without honoring the season we're actually in? In this episode, using gardening and farming as the backdrop, I'll walk you through some of the different seasons we experience in life and business and how much easier things become when we stop fighting the timing of where we are. Some of us are in a planting season. Some are finally starting to bloom. Some of us are carrying fruit we prayed for years ago. And some of us are being asked to prune. So before you quit, ask yourself, "which season am I in?" My 75-day Reset: The stuff I ate (and didn't eat) to feel better in my body

This past summer, I disappeared for 75 days to reset my body and work on me. No crappy food, no alcohol, no social media.  After sharing my journey publicly, friends, family and a few listeners asked the same questions: What did you actually eat? Did you go to the doctor first? Did you weigh yourself? How did you know your liver and kidneys were struggling? In this conversation, I answer those questions. I walk you through the foods I leaned on, the habits I released and the mindset shifts that made this reset sustainable. I also talk a bit about emotional eating, discipline and how challenging it was to choose healing over convenience. This reset was never about perfection or restriction. It was about listening to my body and the signs I had been ignoring for far too long. Is your body calling for a reset? In this episode, you'll hear: 00:59 — The decision to begin again 01:54 — Preparing for the reset 03:01 — What I actually ate 05:28 — Hydration, eliminations and non-negotiables 07:04 — Emotional eating and awareness 08:30 — Answering your most asked questions Doctors, lab work, the scale, and trusting your body's signals. NOTE: I am one of the millions of Americans without health insurance so that is why I made some of the decisions I share in this segment. 14:53 — The hard parts and staying committed 17:57 — Encouragement for anyone sensing it may be time to pause and reset. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, dietitian, or medical professional. The information shared in this episode reflects my personal experience and is not intended as medical advice. Life or Death? My 75-Day Reset.

After sharing a simple update on LinkedIn that unexpectedly resonated with quite a few of my followers, I knew it was time to tell the deeper story behind my 75-day reset. From July 8th to my 55th birthday on September 21st, I stepped away from several things that really had a hold on me. This wasn't about dieting. It was about saving myself.  Before I started the journey, anxiety was rising, depression was creeping in, my body felt weighed down. It felt like I was drowning in my own life. Something inside whispered, "Stop now, or you're going to break." In this episode, I take you into that journey and the quiet but powerful shift that eventually unfolded.  If you've been feeling depleted or disconnected from yourself, this conversation may be the sign you've been waiting for to reset and breathe again. In this episode, you'll hear: 00:10 — Why this reset became urgent The moment I knew something had to change. 00:57 — Choosing a 75-day detox What I cut out and why. 02:14 — When overwhelm hit a breaking point Anxiety, depression, and the wake-up call I couldn't ignore. 03:43 — The hard early days Cravings, withdrawals, and confronting discomfort. 13:33 — The first signs of healing Better sleep, calmer energy, and reduced inflammation. 15:04 — A spiritual quieting Reconnecting with peace and God. 19:40 — A shift in my coaching Leading from the heart, not the head. 21:10 — Lessons I didn't expect What patience and surrender revealed. 24:27 — An invitation to reset Encouragement for anyone feeling depleted.  ============== Do me a solid.
