43 Years of Marriage, Parenthood, and Close Encounters in 1979 Rural Florida with Elliot's Parents

43 Years of Marriage, Parenthood, and Close Encounters in 1979 Rural Florida with Elliot's Parents

What happened on Friday the 13th, 1979 to a couple of lovebirds on their way to see Alien at the theatre? You may have a hard time believing what you hear, but Elliot's parents tell us about their close encounter on that night in 1979. Elliot realizes a specific Dateline NBC episode may be the starting point for the majority of his irrational anxieties. How do folks in their 60s feel about aging? We ask them!
Larry tells us a story about his idea with a match, a gallon of gasoline, and a manhole cover. Stay to the end where we set up Elliot's mom up to win a prize that we've been planning for for a while now!

Insightful and Heartwarming

There’s no such thing as a perfect marriage but I can get it as close as I can. The little lessons I’ve learned from this podcast have been inspiring and heart felt. The episode with Elliot’s parents is my favorite so far especially the whole discussion regarding respect for elders and aging. Great content, keep the episodes coming.

Thoughtful conversations

I thoroughly enjoyed the last few episodes. In a time were everyone is focused on their phones, I think it is important to make sure to put the phone away and look for human connection. Thank you for the kind reminder.
