Over the years friends, family, colleagues, and sometimes complete strangers have shared personal stories with me of encounters with departed loved ones or with unknown entities that couldn't be explained away. These stories have always intrigued me both personally as a person of faith and professionally as a researcher.     The Knowing

    In this episode of Spirited Conversations we meet Claudia, a medium who shares her first encounter with a psychic and spiritual path from childhood through the death of her Mother and Father. She talks about Lily Dale, NY, a 160-acre Spiritualist community founded in 1879 and home to 52 registered mediums. She explains the "clair" (or intuitive) senses, 6 out of 8 of which she possesses.     We Have to Go a Distance to Come Closer to Ourselves

    In this episode we welcome Jody, who we first met in Protective Presence (Season 1, Episode 3). She shares the experience of complicated grief following the loss of her father and her experience of synesthesia, a perceptual phenomenon in which one experiences one sense through another. She relates visitations by human, animal, and other entities; sounds of moving furniture, footsteps, music, voices, and navigation frequencies; experiences of sleep paralysis; preparation by spirit to guide souls to the afterlife; and the spiritual gifts of animals.
