DEEP DIVE: The Lost Boys of Bucks County PART ONE (re-released)

***A NOTE FROM JACKIE AND JENNA: We had received a review about this episode with attention called out to our information on Jimi Patrick, stating that Jimi did not have a history of being troubled or kicked out of high school and was a student in college at the time of the murders. We take getting the facts seriously, and we removed this episode pending review of our sources that were cited for this episode. Per the Philly Magazine source that we used for this episode:  "Jimi had an innocent face, but he’d been kicked out of high school. Photos found on his phone showed guns and drugs." Cipriano, R. (2020, February 25). The untold tale of Cosmo DiNardo’s descent into murder and madness. Philadelphia Magazine. Therefore, we will be re-releasing the episode as our sources for this episode have proven to be accurate.  SHOW DESCRIPTION In the summer of 2017, four young men from Bucks County, Pennsylvania left their homes—each believing they were heading to a routine meet-up. None of them ever came back. What began as separate missing persons cases quickly spiraled into one of the most disturbing and high-profile investigations the region had ever seen. Within days, panic spread across the community as families searched desperately for answers, and investigators uncovered a chilling connection linking all four disappearances to one remote location. In Part 1, Jackie and Jenna break down the timeline of the disappearances and introduce the two men at the center of the case—Cosmo DiNardo and Sean Kratz. As the investigation unfolds, a quiet farm in Solebury Township becomes the focal point of a growing nightmare. #BucksCountyMurders #CosmoDiNardo #SeanKratz #TrueCrimePodcast #TrueCrimeCommunity #PennsylvaniaCrime #ColdCase #TrueCrimeYouTube #StopWhoDoesThat #MurderCase #TrueCrimeStories   REFERENCES:   https://www.phillyburbs.com/story/news/local/2024/07/11/looking-back-july-2017-murder-4-men-cosmo-dinardo-solebury-bucks-county/74358802007/   https://www.wfmz.com/news/crime/cosmo-dinardo-pleads-guilty-to-killing-4-men-in-bucks-county/article_d29bd13c-3da6-5082-afab-87272a75ccbd.html https://www.phillymag.com/news/2020/02/25/cosmo-dinardo/

DEEP DIVE: The Mysterious Death of Terron Evans Jr. PART ONE

Two empty pill bottles. A young man found dead in bed. A case quickly ruled an overdose. But Terron Evans Jr.’s mother says the evidence tells a very different story. On January 8, 2021, 26-year-old Terron Evans Jr. was found dead inside a home in Potsdam, New York. Authorities concluded his death was caused by a heart attack connected to a Wellbutrin overdose — but from the beginning, Terron’s mother, Jennifer, believed there were too many unanswered questions. Conflicting concerns about the scene, the timeline, the emergency response, and what may have happened in the hours before Terron died. In this episode of Stop! Who Does That?, we take a closer look at the mysterious death of Terron Evans Jr., the official ruling, the questions raised by his family, and the years-long fight for records, transparency, and answers. DEEP DIVE: Shannon Schieber - The 911 Call Police Walked Away From

On May 7, 1998, 23-year-old Wharton graduate student Shannon Schieber was found murdered inside her Philadelphia apartment after failing to show up for work. Hours earlier, a neighbor had called 911 after hearing screams, cries for help, and choking sounds coming from Shannon’s apartment — but police left without forcing entry. Shannon’s murder terrified Philadelphia, especially as investigators began connecting her case to a series of violent sexual assaults targeting women living alone in Center City. For years, critical DNA evidence sat without a match while a predator continued to attack. Eventually, advances in DNA technology led investigators to Troy Graves, the man who became known as the “Center City Rapist.” In this episode, we cover Shannon’s life, the night she was killed, the controversial police response, the attacks linked to Troy Graves, and the Schieber family’s powerful decision to seek life without parole instead of the death penalty. This is the tragic murder of Shannon Schieber — and the case that exposed missed warnings, investigative failures, and a predator who slipped through the cracks for far too long. **Credits given to Truly Criminal for use of their audio   Resources: https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/FSupp2/156/451/2318076/   https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jul/02/rape-philadelphia-investigation-crisis-crimes   https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/commentary/shannon-schieber-murder-police-lessons-center-city-rapist-investigation-20250523.html   https://www.archbalt.org/murdered-daughters-mother-says-death-penalty-must-go/?print=print

The Abt Family Massacre: The Neighbor Who Waited Inside Their Home (BUCKS COUNTY)

In this episode of Stop! Who Does That?, Jackie and Jenna dive into one of Bucks County’s most disturbing crimes: the Abt family massacre. In March 1976, 24-year-old George Geschwendt broke into the Trevose, Pennsylvania home of the Abt family and waited for hours, armed and hidden inside. One by one, as members of the family returned home, he shot and killed them in a calculated ambush rooted in years of resentment, humiliation, and obsession. The victims included parents John and Margaret Abt, their children Kathy, John Jr., and Margie, along with Margie’s boyfriend, Gary Engle. Only two Abt brothers survived because they were not home at the time. As investigators closed in, Geschwendt’s shocking confession revealed that he had intended to kill the surviving brothers as well, calling the murders a personal vendetta. His trial, insanity defense, death sentence, later commutation to life in prison, and decades of appeals would leave the community — and the surviving family members — haunted for years. This is the chilling story of George Geschwendt, the Abt family massacre, and the devastating ripple effects of a crime that destroyed far more than the lives taken that day.
