    i met Dr. Nighat Arif at a Breast Cancer Charity Event, she was the speaker and was there talking about her debut book 'The Knowledge' - Your guide to female health from menstruation to the menopause. I learnt so much that I simply had to have her on the show. Please share this episode with every woman you know so we can start the conversation in the open. Dr Nighat is a GP specialising in women's health, family planning and menopause care with over 15 years of experience in the NHS and she runs her own private practice.     Cancer Was Good For Me.

    October marks the month of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A global campaign to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Recently I attended an afternoon tea charity event for Sakoon Through Cancer. The event had a guest speak the lovely Dr.Nighat Arif, who is a GP and talked about how important Women's Health is especially when it comes to South Asian and Black women. I speak to the Founder Samina Hussain about her journey and why she started her charity. If you have anyone who is going through Breast Cancer, a relative or friend do share this episode with them and reach out to Sakoon through Cancer for support.     Refining Rules for the Next Generation

    I had the privilege of meeting Zara Mohammed Secretary at a dinner a couple of months ago. Zara is the first female, youngest and first Scottish Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Britain. Zara truly is inspirational and I was so impressed with her vision, dedication and humour, so of course i simply had to have her on the show. I know you will love this episode, as it comes from the heart, full of passion and strength. Zara is an incredible role model for young Muslims and especially for our next generation of Muslim women. I applaud Zara for her courage to break old stereotypes and change perceptions of Muslims in the United Kingdom. As a teacher and have worked in education and especially with mentoring young people over 15 years I know we can all make a difference. We all can contribute our skill, time and energy in volunteering to our own local communities and help in shaping and bettering young peoples lives as a collective. I encourage all my Muslim sisters to use their voice and share their personal experiences, you never know who you inspire with your story.
