Episode 205 - Demo of amazon Web Mac Improved Accessibility and New Innosearch Fees

It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show super cool Brian demo, as Brian noticed a few things going on on the Innosearch and a long over due accessibility web improvement to amazon on the Mac.   Brian starts off discussing the newly implemented under $25 fees that are appearing on Innosearch. He walks you through a demo of searching for Men's Boxers, adding to the cart, and then the new under $25 handling fee Innosearch has implemented. Next he demos the bizarre behavior on Innosearch after you decide to look for a second product. These demos are done on the Mac using Safari. You may experience different behavior on the PC or in Chrome or other browsers on the Mac.   Brian then goes over to Amazon to demo the very positive and long over due heading and screen reader navigation improvements  in safari on the Mac. We now have keyboard shortcuts on the Mac that actually work in most places. Brian walks you through navigating search results in Amazon which still leave much to be desired, and then he shows you how searching directly for a product in Google might get you to the product page directly faster.   Brian attempts to use the keyboard shortcut built in to Amazon to get a product description, and when it fails to work, he then demos the fantastic new heading structure on amazon.com. He then demos how quick and simple it is to add a product to your cart with the keyboard shortcut.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow

Episode 204 - #GAAD, Google IO, and Walrus Penis Bone

It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show and since we have a new intro for our show we got the entire gang here of Allison, Brian, David, Ed, and Jeanine.       We kick the show off discussing a Little Rock and roll and Billy Idol of all things. Which then leads to our first That Real Blind Tech show firing in quite awhile.   Brian discusses seeing Bruce Springsteen at Madison Square Garden. And the talk of the Boss then leads to us discussing our new theme song.   Eventually we get in to the news with a story for the ages as a beloved Walrus Penis Bone has gone missing from a bar in South Jersey. And we finally have an answer to the age old question, is it safe to use a laptop on your lap?        Will Privacy workers ruin Smart Glasses for people with disabilities?   Boston Logan Airport is launching a pilot  program of people getting to the airport 25 miles away and going through TSA there, what could go wrong with this?   We then discuss #GAAD and what has it accomplished over the past 15 years. Ed discusses the #GAAD event he participated in with Meta Labs.   In recognition of #GAAD Apple unveiled the new accessibility features coming in the next operating system.   We then touch on all the sink holes popping up in New York City.   We then dive in to Google Io, and start out discussing Vibe Coding apps and will this lead to further inaccessibility.   Google has multiple pairs of Glasses coming later this year, the first pair we discuss is the Project Aura Glasses which are more VR glasses.   Google will also be releasing an Audio only Gemini Glasses, but do not call them Glasses, they are Intelligent Eyewear.   Get ready to do everything in Google in the search box.   Google Gemini Agents will become more personalized.   At the end of the day all of these A.I. features and the usability of it all will come down to two things, the accessibility of it all, and more importantly, will you actually trust using it.   We then dive in to some new products we have gotten recently. Brian kicks it off discussing the DOT digital Business Card which you can buy on amazon. Brian then mentions he bought the Anker Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro Buds that just were released on May 21st, however, as they did not arrive until after we recorded, and the app and touch screen have several accessibility issues. The app and touch screen are pretty much unusable by someone who is blind. We will discuss this further on our next show. David then discusses the Pocket A.I. Recorder he just ordered. And while it is not a typical Allison return, she is gifting her current Mac Book Air and replacing it with the latest Mac Book Pro. Jeanine then discusses the Hapware Band she has ordered, so expect a lot of product discussions on the next few shows as we receive these products.   And it's more of What's Pissing Off Brian Now and Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow

Episode 203 - GPT Smackdown Demo for Mac Usability

It's an all new That Real Blind Tech show long awaited new demo, as Brian woke up early and decided to do something about his frustration with the state of navigation and usability of ChatGPT on the Mac with VoiceOver.   Welcome to the first ever GPT smack off!   Brian will run you through ChatGPT, ChatGPT Desktop, Google Gemini, Gemini Desktop for Mac, and Claude and compare all of them for ease of use, navigation, and usability with VoiceOver on the Mac.   So grab a beverage, kick back and enjoy.   Brian starts off walking you through the current navigation issues in both the web based and desktop ChatGPT apps. They end up getting a D minus for his usability score.   Next up is Gemini web based and desktop apps. Brian gives web based Gemini an A for its ease of navigation and great heading structure. It blows the doors off the current state of navigation on ChatGPT. Remember this demo was done on the Mac in Safari, you may experience different behavior in chrome on the Mac, and of course on the PC.     Brian ends up giving the Mac Gemini Desktop app a C, so if you are going to use Gemini on the Mac stick to the browser version, it is a much smoother navigation experience.   Brian is using Claude for the first time and like web based Gemini, he gives web based Claude an A as well, so se la vie to ChatGPT and their continuing downward spiral with screen reader usability.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow

    Episode 202 - Mother Tucker it's A Sloppy Enis

It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show as Allison, Brian, David, and Jeanine are back together again to discuss all the latest tech news with of course some other nonsense.   A few episodes ago Ed educated us all that it is no longer a crime to urinate in public in New York City. Who knew Ed actually knew what he was talking about!       According to a recent Web Aim report, the web's accessibility has gotten worse over the past year. In other bad accessibility news, the government has extended the deadline for state and local websites to be accessible to everyone for another year until April 2027.   And in our new segment, It Could Only Happen in Florida, the Florida Attorney General is looking in to going after ChatGPT for its assistance with murders!   Why no mention of security? Why is it always privacy, privacy, privacy?   Just when we thought Claude was the responsible A.I., it goes and deletes a companies entire database. Whoops.   We then dive in to discussing OpenClaw, is it the most useful piece of software ever created as some claim, or a disaster waiting to happen?   We then get a review of the Rocked Glasses and compare them against the Meta Glasses.   You may have heard by now that Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple's CEO, we discuss what his legacy will be. We then discuss the five best products launched during the Tim Cook era.   A recent rumor claims that iOS 27 will make our Air Pods a lot more powerful. Yeah, but do you believe a single thing coming out of apple anymore?   As we continue on the Apple rumor front, is the Vision Pro already Sleeping with the fishes? And yet another Apple rumor has Apple potentially ditching MagSafe.

Episode 201 - Stroke Man, We're All Stroked Out

It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show as Allison, Brian, David, and Jeanine get together to discuss the latest tech news.   We start the show off answering the age old debate, what would win, an Uber Eats robot or a train?   The days of stopping at rest stops on a long road trip could be over thanks to a Chinese car company and their new patent.   Google is finally going to take action against sites that are Back Button Hijacking.   Netflix all new designed Apple TV app is a disaster.   We then talk the app that the blind community is going Ga Ga for, Orion.   If you would like to read Brian's entire article about the state of sports, Fantasy Sports, and Sports Gambling Accessibility you can read it here.   Google launched its Mac Gemini Desktop app.   Perplexity launched Personal computing on the Mac, if you want to pay for it.   Claude Mythos claims to have discovered security vulnerabilities all over the internet at every company everywhere, or is this just a PR stunt by Anthropic?   Since we discussed a lot of A.I. models here we then discuss our go to model we are using.   Apple is rumored to launch another 15 products later this year. We discuss the phones, computers, watches, Air Pods, iPads, and other rumored goodies. And Apple Glasses are rumored to be coming.   Is there any saving the disaster that Windows 11 is?   If you have not been paying attention, you may have missed that the cost of everything is going up. We start this segment off discussing the ridiculous price grab by New Jersey Transit for the World Cup. Brian then goes off on a rant that he is not from New Jersey despite what another blind tech show claims.   Netflix is raising their prices for the second time in less than two years. Add YouTube Premium as another service raising its prices. Amazon Prime Video is now calling their ad free tier Prime Video Ultra, and yup it is raising prices. And the price raising is not limited to streaming services, as Microsoft has raised prices on all their Surface Books. And if you can't beat them you might as well join them, so Samsung announced it is raising prices of its devices in the U.S.   And it is more of What's Pissing Off Brian Now and Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow It's an all new That Real Blind Tech Show as Allison, Brian, David, and Jeanine get together to discuss the latest tech news. Episode 200: The 200th Episode Spectacular, And There's Your Show title!

It's the That Real Blind Tech show 200th Episode spectacular, so for this huge achievement, we got the entire gang of Allison, Brian, David, Ed, and Jeanine together to talk about little tech news, and do more reflecting about the past 199 episodes.   We kick the celebration off with some pre-celebration music which then leads in to the amazing creation from M.C. Goldstein. It is sure to quickly run up the Billboard charts to number 1 if the billboard charts still exist in 2026. We know Casey Kasem would have been a huge fan.   Did we actually ever land on the Moon? We discuss the Artemis launch from this past week, and Brian's conspiracy theory about it.   The NYC MTA has found yet another way to screw with accessibility with public transportation.   You can finally change your gmail user name, but there is a catch, this feature is only available to those in the United States.   While some of us are rooting for facial recognition to come to the masses, a woman in Tennessee is definitely not one of them as police used facial recognition to arrest her and send her back to a state she claims she has never stepped foot in.   A recent study finds that LLM's will protect each other over following prompts to delete one another. Oh shit, that can't be good.   Sixty civil society organizations claim everyone on the planet will be harmed by facial recognition. Yeah, how many people with disabilities were asked about this?   We then kick off a look back down memory lane and the past 6 years and 200 episodes of That Real Blind Tech show. There's the Blind Feud, favorite moments, technology and accessibility fails, and of course the regular That Real Blind Tech Show humor. We kick the look back off with what else, but the history of how That Real Blind Tech show came to be. Next it's a special That Real Blind Tech show centric Blind Feud, followed by a bunch of questions about technology and changes over the past 200 episodes.   And it's more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading and of course the full entire Fahrvergnugen hit song. And a special homage ending.     To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow
