    AJS#180 Impression

    I have known of this weeks guest for a long time now. I have purchased a few of his records over the years. It wasn't until I was talking with one of my friends in DC that I found out he lives here in Florida! Our community feels so big and spread out that it's always nice to find out there are some good DNB people in your back yard. Eric and his show, Lab Sessions, has been a staple on Bassdrive.com for years. I always love Liquid Funk a little more in the summer time and this one checks all the boxes.     This weeks guest  has become a rising force in the bass music scene, earning recognition both as a curator and a DJ specializing in deep, soulful, liquid sounds of drum and bass.  She's a whole vibe and I really enjoyed this one. Right in time for summer.  She's a resident DJ at San Francisco’s Stamina Sundays and Denver’s Konkrete Jungle Mile High and is a family member of Heavy Traffic Radio & Recordings and regularly makes appearances on their long-running radio show on Sub.FM.     I have known of this weeks  guest for a few years now. I didn't feel compelled to reach out to her until I learned that she once had her own public access television show in the 90's! I had to know more. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. It turns out, she is in fact awesome. Kathy is one of the pioneering figures of Texas drum & bass and underground electronic music culture. Based in Austin, she has spent more than three decades in the dance music community through music as a DJ, producer, promoter, and curator.
