On today's Coffee with Rich, we will be joined by Kerry “Kato” Murakami.
Kerry “Kato” Murakami, the founder of Rectitude Training, LLC, is devoted to training law enforcement and the civilian defender. Kerry is a retired law enforcement officer from the State of Illinois and has spent all twenty eight years in the patrol division. He initially became a defensive tactics instructor and field training officer in 1995, a firearms instructor in 2003 and finally a scenario based instructor in 2014.
 
As a martial artist, Kerry received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Mark Vives of New Breed Training Center in 2019. As co-lead of his department’s scenario based training program and lead instructor of his department’s combatives club Kerry is able to use his skills to create, update, and implement training programs on the range and in the mat room. He has also consulted with outside law enforcement agencies on creating and updating training programs, including their agency's combatives/jiu-jitsu clubs. In early 2021 Rectitude Training, LLC became a preferred provider to Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency (IRMA), one of the largest risk pools in the Chicagoland area. The goal is to increase frequency and consistency of Defensive Tactics/Combatives training while reducing Officer’s and suspect's injuries.

John Valentine is a distinguished expert in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Modern Army Combatives, and firearms training. He holds a coveted black belt under the tutelage of the "Father of Modern Combatives," Matt Larsen. Additionally, he has completed the Rangemaster Instructor Development Master Course graduating with "Top Gun" honors.

With a degree in Criminal Justice, John combines his extensive training and experience to deliver exceptional instruction on self-defense and firearms use.

With years of experience as an assistant instructor to Matt Larsen, John has also served as a primary and associate instructor for premier private training companies. Companies such as Green Ops, Hill Country Combatives, and Sheepdog Response. John is also the lead instructor for the Lift, Shoot, Fight Camp put on by Starting Strength.

John is dedicated to sharing his knowledge with others. He has attended thousands of hours of formal training in fitness, firearms, and Combatives John is approaching two decades of active military service, including multiple deployments to the Middle East with Army and Air Force. John currently teaches as pre-deployment instructor and to civilians under the Deeds of Arms brand.

T.C. Fuller is an experienced federal investigator and firearms trainer. He has spent his life carrying a firearm for the U.S. government. T.C. first served as an Army Infantry officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer, before leaving the Army to accept an appointment as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He spent the next 20 years working in all areas of investigative interest within the FBI, and served for several years as an instructor in the FBI’s Firearms Training Unit in Quantico, VA.

T.C. holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, as well as a Masters of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. As a published writer, T.C. has written an innovative book on the topic of improving law enforcement deadly force training, as well as having written for several print magazines on the areas of law enforcement procedures, explosives, firearms and edged weapons.
Among T.C.’s personal achievements, he has been awarded the U.S. Army’s highest peace-time award for heroism, the Soldier’s Medal. Besides finding, capturing and convicting a fugitive on the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted list, T.C. has also been a successful competitive shooter for more than 20 years, earning a Master class certification from the International Defensive Pistol Association, winning numerous local, state and regional competitions along the way.

He is now operating his own company, The Horus Group, LLC, which serves as a consultancy on firearms and training, as well as providing high-end, private firearms training for both armed professionals and citizens.
